Performance was fine for me, but take it with a grain of salt. 4090, i9-13900, 32gb ram. Maintained 100 FPS with Framegen with some occasional stuttering (I assume cell loading/unloading borders). Never quicksave/load as they cause crashing, only use autosaves or manual saves. Outside of that, I think I only crashed ~2-3 times in 57 hours.

I never played Oblivion 2006. Skyrim was my first ES game, ESO after that. Game is pretty fun, but it is a product of it's time and it shows, even with the new coat of paint. I completed the main quest in about 20 hours, then Fighter's guild, dark brotherhood, mage's guild, and thieves guild after that. Those were all pretty solid, if dragging at times.

I started on the shivering isles DLC but after a couple hours couldn't be bothered to continue. The characters and story in Oblivion are all interesting enough but the gameplay drags on and overstayed it's welcome for me, especially with how many similar mazey dungeons the game throws at you, how many load screens you deal with constantly, and how often you will be fast traveling around the map.

The core experience is fun though; worth grabbing on sale if your computer can handle it.

- Set Animal/Mercenary level to current troop level
- Clone a new copy of an Animal / Mercenary
- Clone a new copy of gear
- Add positive Traits
- Remove negative Traits
- Receive supplies during each rest that you choose (cloth, wine, resin, etc... almost anything)
- Decipher Codices without knowing all the runes
- Reveal location of Sepulchres
- Additional Trade Post
- Several vendors/services like barber/brotherhood/smith/jail/Inn

I think it's worth it for the features. On sale at least.

It has one massive problem though... The Fief cannot be easily changed/fixed. Part of running your fief is choosing what kinds of buildings to create and what your population, government, and alignment will be like. These decisions are semi-permanent in a way that can lock you out of exploring alternate governments, even if you destroy and rebuild districts. Since certain governments have requirements like lack of militarism, or high population of farmers, you can effectively be locked out of these progressions if have too much criminal, military, or the wrong populations.

Even if you remove all your buildings and tax everyone so high that your population resets to 0, it is still stuck with the previous choices you made. The only thing you can do is to completely destroy your fief (which resets it to level 1) and start over from nothing if you want to explore the alternate governments.

It's not a big deal for functionality, only if you kind of want completionism and to try everything out, is a pain.

Great sequel so far, 20 hours in. Figured I'd give it a shot with the -75% spring sale. Followed "BenchmarKing"'s optimization guide/video on youtube, and with a fix I found online of adding "-dx12" without quotations to your steam launch options, the game is running way smoother now. No excuse that it has such poor performance by itself but with a little willingness to tweak, it's more than fine.

The game recommends you use a controller so I did. Plays great. Looks great. Story is solid. I know EA is the devil incarnate but Respawn is a great studio, you can tell this game was made by fans of the IP.
