Great game, would be worth at least $5

Played a few years ago, enjoyed it, played tonight, enjoyed it.

Janky mutant fun.

I don't really like the map but I do enjoy this game quite a bit. All 3 of these games are good.

I had a great time with Creeper World IXE and managed to complete every Story and Tangent mission. Although I haven’t tried the user-generated content yet I already strongly recommend picking up this game in the Universal Collection - it’s a solid franchise. This feels like Creeper World 2 x Particle Fleet: Emergence, so if you enjoyed either of those you'll enjoy this.

Highlights:

* Steady, methodical progression is as satisfying as ever, especially in space.
* Getting Anti-Creeper to breeder ground/liquid is always rewarding. In one mission, I overextended and lost my breeding ground - but even then, the mission remained beatable, which is a testament to the game’s resilience. It’s one of those experiences that sets the Creeper World series apart.

Grievances:

* The galaxy map’s linear nature doesn’t seem to add much; it feels like extra clicks without branching paths. I would have loved more story missions instead, possibly incorporating those extra weapons introduced in Tangent missions.
* It’s puzzling why Tangent missions aren’t on the main galaxy map to give it more purpose.
* The final story mission diverges significantly from the rest of the game. It’s not a bad mission, it was very fun, it made me wish there had been more like it spread throughout.
* Having one planet per system felt underdeveloped, and parts of the interface felt like they were setting up for more content that wasn’t fully realized.
* The black square in the recipe guide was never explained, leaving a bit of confusion.

Overall, Creeper World IXE is a worthy addition to the series. While Creeper World 4 set an exceptionally high standard, which IXE doesn't reach, the game still delivers a solid experience that’s absolutely worth playing. I’m looking forward to seeing what Knuckle Cracker has in store next.

Multiplayer is good, seems like you can find/earn enough currency to unlock everything. I'm 11 hours in, just unlocked the mortar, seems okay.
