In case you don't see it, I (finally, sorry about that) answered your question about RL2's Prime bosses:
"If you beat a Prime boss, then read the prime memories, you unlock the damage bonus vs ??? permanently.
You're free to turn the burden off after that and the damage bonus will still apply."
