Want to play as an italian gangster in 1950s America? Then this game is for you. I had an absolute blast playing this game years back. It has a captivating story with interesting characters which helps make the atmosphere of the game feel real. The world of Mafia II feels convincing and it is enough to entertain you for a good while. For a game that is above more than 14 years old it also surprisingly holds up quite well towards modern standards.

If you expect to free roam in this game once you are finished with the main story then I regret to inform you that this is not GTA. Although it is an open world game, it is more linear with mainly just the story at its focus. By other words I want you to keep in mind that there is not really any replayability once you are finished.

Another thing to think about before buying this game is its compatibility with newer operating systems. I've read from other reviews that certain people seem to have an issue playing Mafia II on Windows 11. Although I do not know if this is true myself, I can confirm that the game runs perfectly fine on windows 10!
