Stardew Valley is an incredibly charming and casual game with the ability to farm, fish, mine, forage-- whatever you please. The atmosphere of the game, done with the soundtrack, graphics, and NPCs really were a selling point for me. While things may start slower with a "figure it out" gameplay style, the concept of the game keeps this throughout in a way that just seems refreshing.

I've had this game for quite some time now, and this review is being done at around 132 hours. The charm hasn't diminished at this point for me, and at this point in time the game has had content updates to keep my interest. All and all, I absolutely recommend this game for the sake of a casual, care-free style game that you can lose yourself in for hours.

First off, this game will absolutely beat you down. You will try hard, get far. But in the end, it won't even matter because that boss will hit you with a shot you accidentally dodge roll into. And it's amazing!

As far as rogue-like games go, this is my ALL TIME favorite one to play, even if I am still horribad. The guns, the variety, and the RNG keeps things interesting. The graphics themselves are polished for a pixelated style, and the more I play, the more I get into it. The soundtrack is something that I love to listen to as I run and die over and over, with a nice beat and tune to keep you mildly stressed and motivated at the same time.

A run can go so wrong and so right at the same time that it is mindblowing-- and stressful. I absolutely recommend this game if you are actively looking for a challenging rogue-like to play. I'm not too far into the lore of the game quite yet, but the more elements that get introduced through unlocking cells or however else you come across the randomly placed encounters make me want to keep looking and find out more.

So again, if you're up for a challenge (Floor 1 does not mean Easy!) I totally recommend this.
