Reminds me of KF2 in early access. Solid foundation, some familiar maps, characters, and zeds

Just like the first game, Monster Train 2 is an excellent card battler with excellent music.

The game is great. The characters, cards and encounters are a lot of fun.

Early Access Review
Trash of the Titans in early access is starting strong. The core tactics gameplay is solid and satisfying. It's closer to Into the Breach than XCOM with its micro battles. You level up your party by playing Tetris with your trash (loot) and it's a nice twist on "make the numbers go up". There's currently two acts with numerous stages and one final boss each. The story is just beginning and is fairly minimal. There's a few other UI elements that could use some polish.

Some clunky aspects to the interface and game design. For instance, in the garage you appear to have a wall of tools and several toolboxes. Yet, the first mission requires you to buy a screwdriver. Why not just grab the big toolbox and then go? Next, you arrive at the lady's house and need to find a "Mysterious Key" to unlock the door. Surely if the lady wanted something fixed in a particular room she wouldn't lock the door to it! Lastly, maybe it's different in different parts of Europe but instead of "fuze" (fuse is the correct spelling) it should be circuit breakers. Nobody uses fuses in their houses anymore (if they can help it).

The disassembly of the sockets, lights, game console etc and safety is good if a little simplistic.

A lot like Slay the Spire. The unit placement aspect adds a welcome change to the deck building core.

If you like the previous XCOM 2, you'll enjoy this game. Although, numerous bugs regarding turns/action points limit this game. My biggest complaint is that you can't see the action points available for the current character, EVER.
