I hope that the Witcher Devs can deliver, both so that A) They don't get a horrible ME3/Watch_Dogs style backlash and B) We get a totally awesome game. Internet opinion is a cruel mistress, as BioWare learned and I hope CDPR never has to.

P.S. Every single follower and advisor in Dragon Age is totally cute and/or hot and it's UNFAIR.

My fears with both games are approximately the same: open world bloat. Particularly given that both are previously quite story-focused games. Inquisition seems to have thought through the whole "What to do with your massive stretches of land" problem quite well by tying it into a resource and power management metagame for the Inquisition (plus tons of crafting, yum). I've yet to get a sense for what the Witcher's use of its giant open spaces is, beyond big ol' monster hunting quests and such. Though god knows I really want to sail around in those Witchery isles in a little boat finding sea monsters and stuff, yessss. I need this. CDProjekt certainly has created some *very* high expectations in terms of graphics and story to live up to, and they've only encouraged the hype.

I don't have any fears that Inquisition is going to be bad. At worst it will be Mass Effect 3 bad, which really isn't bad when you think about it. And I don't think they want to repeat even that. I have high hopes. Lots of good gaming coming. This could be the best we get before it all goes VR. Still looking forward more towards Witcher 3 than Inquisition, but that will change in 2 or 3 weeks.

I managed to sate some of my char-gen urges yesterday by wrestling with Skyrim hair and warpaint mods for an hour (♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you, poor user documentation!). Mr. Fluka is still very keen on Borderlands 2 co-op, so we still have to finish that and do the D&D-fantasy-campaign DLC. Plus I need to at least give Alien a go in time for Halloween.

I want Civ very badly, but I might make it my post-New Years' game, so that it can have the time it deserves. And so that there's time for people to create strategy guides. Of course, if Inquisition is somehow terrible, I might be coming to it sooner than predicted. (Please don't be terrible.)

I will be so occupied with Civ I won't even notice. I might just avoid all Inquisition news from now on, just to keep it fresh. Dreamfall is more for Misses Effigy (that's confusing, huh), but I will certainly watch her play it. And then Unity... good thing I just hooked up my TV to my PC via 25 feet of HDMI cable.

Oh god, and they just announced another trailer tomorrow with the followers. I will remain strong. (I guess I DO have a big work meeting later this week...)

Dreamfall is tomorrow? Oh man, I hope that's good. Though I may, er, still have to play the first two games. Trailer was super-intriguing looking! Too many good things in the last part of this year.

It took me a long time to figure out how you had to play it. Don't get too attached to your race. I lost like 10 times in a row when I started.
