Hunt: Showdown has occupied my time since I picked it up in 2019, and after playing with numerous buddies, both good and bad, I can safely say that this is probably the best competitive shooter on the market. Between the gritty atmosphere of an eldritch cursed Louisiana Bayou and the weighty heft to the gunplay, you're sure to be engrossed in every hunt you embark on.

This isn't to say the game is without flaws, however. Trading kills and desync can be particularly frustrating for some, but it is admittedly a small price to pay for the intense gunfights you're sure to find. Crytek has done a wonderful job listening to the player base thus far, and only proceeds to bolster the game with free content updates and events multiple times a year.

With the state of modern PvP FPS games in disarray, Hunt: Showdown, despite its dingy, dirty exterior, is a breath of fresh air. If you're tired of the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Call of Duty every year, or of the cesspit that Tarkov has become, the Bayou would welcome you with open arms; and perhaps a Nitro Express ;)
