Lemme preface this by saying Endless Legend and Endless Space 2 are two of my favourite 4X games of all time, and whilst this is a limited demo it felt like a true evolution of the first game.

There were a couple noticeable bugs between some temporarily uninteractable buttons and dialogue closing prematurely, but these really didn't hamper the experience in the slightest.

The UI is slick and carries over well from previous instalments, the Kin faction (the only one I have played so far) was flavourful as hell, combat was engaging if a bit simple, hero development was intuitive and felt rewarding and the city building was enjoyable.

I do feel a few extra steps for readabilities sake would go a long way, like tinting districts when zoomed out and reducing each district buildings' size to create distance between them and allowing for natural city streets between them, but these are nitpicks which if unchanged will just become more natural with play time. Also perhaps reducing the required buildings to level up a district from four to three would encourage less blob-y cities and encourage more alternative building strategies.

Considering all this I'm PUMPED for early access and full release, this feels like a worthy sequel and I'm all here to experience it play out. Now gimmie Drakken and my soul will be right back where it belongs.

I'm writing this while downloading the patch and agonizing over my slow download speed. Warhammer End Times: Vermintide is the most fun I've had in a horde game ever, full stop right there. I was never one to enjoy the setting and aesthetic of L4D and the combat was pretty mediocre imho but that was 8 years ago so it's to be expected, but with Vermintide's focus on melee combat it really shines. Multiple weapon types for each character that each offer new styles of play with more coming in the future, active blocking and dodging a requirement for higher difficulties, interesting setting and enemies (I've always been more of a 40K guy but this has gotten me interested in WHFB) and maps that ooze personality just make me love this game every time I play it. Go buy Vermintide and if you don't like it, refund it within the two hour time frame. But more likely than not I can bet you'll like it just as much as me.
