This game low-key sucks.

I like it a lot. The exploration and adventure is super fun, the characters are well-written, the movement is fun and the upgrades system keeps things interesting. The art is amazingly well done and the whole game is beautiful, and all for like $20? Honestly a steal.

But the gameplay itself? It's honestly kinda bad. Your hitbox is larger than the character itself, and with like zero invincibility frames in an attack even successful attacks will damage you if you drift a pixel of your hitbox into an enemy's big toe.
The game expects you to be perfect to a level that degrades the quality of the game itself. I can fully understand an attack pattern, know what to do, and still mess up and take (massive) damage because I'm slightly off in where I should have been. There's a huge difference between skill and TAS-level accuracy.
Even if you do understand attack patterns half of the bosses just flood the screen with random garbage that you cannot predict. It turns almost half the game into an RNG-based luck adventure that feels moreso like I'm playing the most complex slot machine in existence rather than a skill-based fighting game.
I'd say there were maybe 5-7 bosses in the entire game that I actually enjoyed fighting. The rest just became an absolute slog as I waited for RNJesus to grant me with the power of being in the right place at the right time to not lose half of my health to random BS. I started quitting the game and playing something else whenever I felt like a boss fight was coming up towards the end because I knew for the next 15-30 minutes I would just be banging my head against a wall until I randomly ended up being able to hit the enemy 150+ times without getting hit in the head with some unpredictable flying object.

The beginning of the game was solid, but the second half just left me frustrated. It's like it's designed specifically to waste my time because I'm not dying to anything I can learn from, I'm dying to random unpredictable stuff where the takeaway is "man I hope that doesn't happen again"

In reality if you liked HollowKnight this is definitely worth the buy, but they leaned *way* too far into a soulslike for my taste.

I don't even care if this game ends up being good, don't force me to make an account with your dumb customer tracking, er, uh, "connection" app to play a game I bought.

This DLC is like if you hired someone who makes instagram family guy funny moment subway surfer clips to ruin DOOM in a way that is appealing to people who have zero attention span or ability to think.

Basically just a massive game of FPS rock-paper-scissors while you also have no choice but to button mash. Gameplay flow is beyond broken, game runs too fast for any tactical thinking but is built too specifically to just allow run-and-gunning. You're somehow supposed to change weapons every time you face a new enemy to switch to whatever gun their weakness is without having time to even register what enemy you're looking at.

Great game.
Would be better if I could jump off a building again, first time I felt actual fear in a VR game and I want that back.

Literally just a fun shooter, grab your friends and run around in a 1930's paranormal archaeology adventure! If you've enjoyed Rebellion's "Zombie Army Trilogy" you'll like this one too

I'm a bit young to have enjoyed the original, but I found this game very fun to play even nowadays. Anybody interested in puzzle / escape / space games should definitely give this a go!

Purchased this software to run a webcam off of my Steam Link. Setting everything up was quick and easy, though I unfortunately ran into latency issues trying to run a webcam as well as streaming. Refunded as that was the only reason I bought the software, did not try it with anything other than a webcam

My girlfriend and I absolutely LOVE this game!

One of those "easy to learn, difficult to master" type of games that's super easy to just hop in and out of. Also very thankful for local shared screen co-op so I can play it with friends in my living room!

Hallway simulator 2023

This game is so focused on the mediocre story it wants to tell that it doesn't care that the player is there at all. The universe was built for the story, making this whole thing feel like a loveless game that exists because it wasn't good enough to be a movie.

I guess I could say I had fun a little bit, but it was not worth the time I wasted trying to figure out how to play the game. Like, I thought the Oxygen Not Included tutorial was bad but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, not about to spend 200 hours just to a point where I can actually enjoy the game lol
