I regret buying this. I went in with low expectations and was disappointed.

There is just nothing like it. It's impressive they chose to make something this unique and execute on it so well.

I learned about this game from multiple videos bashing it, pointing out its flaws, the worst lines of dialog, the basic combat system, the songs. I really thought this game was bad. But there was something off about those videos.

I wanted to give the game a chance and I fell in love with it, The dialogue, the characters, the story, and the world the story takes place in.
At first I didn't like some of the characters, they're flawed in their own ways, one of them panics all the time, really annoying, but after an hour of playing I wanted to protect them at all cost. In a way it just makes those characters feel like real people. That's where the game is strongest, watching them all grow and change.

The gameplay is for the most part walking and talking. Interacting with the world. The combat is passable, there isn't much of it, you can even skip every fight, On normal difficulty, you can't even die in combat, it's really not meant to be a highlight of the game, it's more of a delivery method for more dialog and progressing the story.

This is a sci-fi road trip though alternate history 2030 America with family and friends. With heavy themes and running from police. I wish the game was longer. I want a sequel right now.

It's a breath of fresh air.
The rocket building is fun. You build silly rockets in your backyard.
You're not going to the moon or anything like that, but you're going to the Earth's orbit.
The social media simulation aspect is well thought through. I enjoyed that part maybe a bit too much. If you like systems and numbers, you'll like it too.
I see others here complain about too much reading, but the story is what kept me engaged.
The live action segments are a bit cringe at times, but I loved them anyway. Charmingly campy.
Yes there are mild political themes, but it's fiction, it's not propaganda. It's real fun. Give it a shot.

I finished the game and immediately started a new save to do it all over again.

The worldbuilding, the atmosphere and soundtrack are great.
If you're interested in coding, you'll spend hours just breaking the game and getting in places you're not supposed to be.
The story is pretty interesting, but may be frustrating to get through for some. To me the game was surprisingly short.

Solid puzzle game. Very polished. Took me 5 hours with all collectibles, felt just right, not too short, didn't overstay its welcome either.
Boss fights were the right amount of challenging, but once you learn their patters, wasn't too hard.
The games has just 1 stick 1 button control scheme with an added accessibility setting that turns it into any stick + any button, which was a nice touch. Overall a great experience.
