I'm about 77 hours in (basically complete at this point including almost all side content, I'm the type to grind every wall to see if there is hidden content :P)
Graphics are pretty, some really nice locations and scenery, needs optimisation though, FPS could be better on my spec
Music is quite enjoyable, I really like a couple of the tracks, others not so much
I play on normal. The dodge / parry mechanic can be frustrating sometimes but you do get a sense of satisfaction memorising timing for them. As you approach the end of the game you may get a little tired of this though. It's not that much a big deal as your damage and health will get to a point where it doesn't matter as much unless you are challenging very specific end game content which can still almost one shot you. There are some silly builds you can make that just makes everything a walk in the park. It does seem to be one of those games that lets you challenge yourself as much as you want though. I didn't get to experience the release frustration of dying and not being able to "retry" a battle so I think I got it easy.
I think they tried to mimic final fantasy 7s materia with the pictos to be honest, or at least drew a lot of inspiration from them. I got a love hate relationship with them because I find some useless, some completely overpowered and some made the gameplay a little more interesting. Micromanaging them up to a point was fun but does get tedious.
Way too many weapons for each character, I know it gives variation but I thought it was a little over done.
The trading system could have been better, I was hoarding chroma until I had over 2 million "Just in case" but it was pretty pointless in the end as I just used everything I already picked up. Same with weapon upgrades unless it is the very last upgrade material.
If you look at reccomendations most people favour certain weapons and pictos in act 3 / end game because they are just the best options in all scenarios. I didn't look at any guides and only looked after and came to the same conclusion which shows they either didn't think out the options properly or they just intended there to be multiple options for variations sake.
Now I typically play RPGs for their story. This one was meh. It felt a bit predictable and once you get to the meat of it there wasn't really any excitement. I was frustrated with some of the characters decisions and I never even bothered using sciel or monaco, I think having to learn yet another play style for these two put me off a bit possibly because I was still getting used to the other characters and I hadn't really become absorbed into the story. they didn't have any magnetism either, though it could also be because I don't get that much time to game so I'm trying to get into it quickly. Anyway, going back to the storyline itself
When Gustav died I didn't really feel anything for him, I didn't like the character and how he behaved and I didn't grow attached to him for it to affect me. I could understand Maelle being upset though but it was just a thing that happened. I've got to say it felt a little obvious where everything was going for the main arc though and as I approach the final fight theres no real suspense / excitement / intrigue, its just something I have to do. There were other issues with the plot but I don't want to write an essay here.
A few of the side locations are very small or consist of just picking up something, I was dissapionted. It amounted to a few side quests for the characters and some difficult opponents to beat for more pictos. I did enjoy a couple of the locations.
Map could have been better, needs the ability to mark a location.
Starting act 3 could have done with a tiny bit of direction as in, "maybe we should go here" or a hint. Have to admit I did look up where to go next because any location I tried I was getting one shotted.
I didn't have much care for the optional stuff at camp, I just did them to get the gradient bonsues and for completions sake.
Esquie is probably the most likable character for me.
The game is probably 50/60 hours just doing the main content.
The character skills were kind of silly, again it felt like there were so many options for variation but you ended up gravitating to a specific few. Guess it depended on your build but at no point did I feel "I need that skill". To be honest I felt like I was working out my style of gameplay through out the entire game, grabbing a new skill to try out and ultimately not using it instead focusing on what I knew and perfecting my dodge/parry skills. In act 3 / end game I started using the same strategies often to get passed the insane health pools and mechanics.
Overall the game was "okay" but it didn't absorb me anywhere near other rpgs have. For £23 it was worth it though.

Anyway theres my word vomit

Slow paced adventure with nice scenery. Took around 3 hours to complete. Worth a couple of quid.

Fun little game, took about 4 hours to complete.

You are young boy escaping from what looks like a prison, as well as simple puzzles there is an overall mystery to your surroundings. The ending may seem unexplained to some but it makes sense if you think back through your journey or even pay it a second time.

Nice chill game.
Has some subtle bugs, one major which can be resolved by a fix on the community forum (graphics are a slide show in some areas)
I was disappointed with the lack of closure for some of the quests and the ending of the game didn't feel fulfilling.
If they fleshed it out more this could have become a franchise.
Not bad for £2.

I found this really hard to get into but its slowly growing on me. Not great, I wouldn't buy at full price. Warhammer fans seem to love it though.
