Why should you buy this game? The true question is: Why not? This shooting game combines fighting game inputs with shmup gameplay. It is also the game that has so many references to other games that I can't even list them all. Main inspirations were Hellsinker and Re:frain prism memories which I recommend checking out aswell.

This game is different from the original CD version. I don't want to say what got changed, but it certainly made the game far better. One big plus is that ingame documents can now be read which wasn't possible in the other version.

the game consists of 6 stages with 3 difficulties. It plays after akashicforce.

Advent gives 500% shield which are 5 hits with shield and 2 with shield-off. your shield regenerates once you use them for grazing which allows for quick recoveries.

On Another shield gets reduced to 100% and you die instantly without shield-on. regeneration is slowed, bullets are faster and a bit denser.

Akashic adds revenge bullets and forces a more radiant silvergun-esque playstyle. bullet density and speed are also enhanced.

while it certainly takes a few hours to properly learn the system it becomes a lot of fun later once you learn to use them in more efficient ways.

my favourite feature of the game are the options. you can customize your inputs aswell as change the behaviour of your shield/wing. there is also the option to enable autocontinue and autorestart which I haven't seen in other games yet.

One thing to note is that highscores submitted to the leaderboards allow 1 credit clears only. Take it how you want. I don't really mind, because it allows for more optimization during the run.

edit: ofc there is stage practice too where score gets submitted individually.

First off I played the game since it hit steam. Back then and now I still consider it an unofficial early access game. In the beginning it was quite boring, but later a lot of stuff got added that made it worthwhile. I am a bit lazy to write an extended review so here my core issues with the game:

Pro:
- high quality(soundtrack and gameplaywise)
- lots of game modes and difficulties
- dlc gives even more modes

Cons:
- scores don't reset after continue
- dlc needed if you want to score high
- dlc weapons apply to core game
- these issues haven't been fixed( or updated and corrected)

so while the game overall is definently worth it, the fact that scores don't reset and dlc allows to even cheese more with the higher multiplier provided by one of the extra weapons, in the end it doesn't pay off.

this review is an undecided one since I like the game's appeal and that it is SiestA's first vertical stg aswell, but contra points are really a thing to consider if you are into highscoring.

The game is world building and connected to its sequel Akashicverse Malicious Wake.
Story mode brings light into the darkness into what happens in the other games.

The game in itself seems complex at first, but when you spent a little time and play the mission mode you will learn how the game works. Mission mode also got some extra challenges for good players.
There is also a manual in both languages in the game folder. It can help you to understand how each character works.

Your goal is pretty much to beat the other player in puyu puyu smash bros with top music in the background and all the visual candy.

The game has some minor flaws. occasionally you will get lags. From my experience these lags mostly show up when using Aranha's method Trick Trap Tears or when you are about to lose your game.

The game is hopefully getting an online vs mode in the future.

I believe that if you are familiar with the other games you won't be disappointed by this game.

I really like the game and wanted a hard copy, which was obtainable on a certian website. However one day the site vanished and I had to go with a illegal cracked version of it. Now the game is on steam and so I missed no time and bought it right away.

The game is very good. You have 3 pilots each with its own ship. It hard to decide since every ship exceeds in a certian terrain. You got everything from area defence to focussed laser attacks.

The game works as follows. You get coins by defeating enemies, which can be used to cast methods. There are multiple level of this. The final version of it is most of the time an entire screen clearing attack. With these methods you are able to knockback bosses and get a bit of time to recharge your method gauge.

Then you have the concept reactor, which is more of panic bomb/method gauge refiller.

If I could describe the game it would be like "if revolver 360 and akashicverse had a small son this would be this game".
Ofc the other games are not made by the same dev, but the overall similairty is there.

You have the matrix design from revolver 360 Re:actor and the method used in akashicverse.

The music is very good and the game offers a lot of difficulties to play with. The higher the difficulty the more fast paced the game gets. I can recommend this game to everyone having small experience in the genre up to the scorechasers that come from other shmups like crimzon clover world ignition or mushihimesama.

Mecha Ritz is practically a playground to hone your skills and getting in touch with the rank system, which is common in most shmups.

You have 12 mechs each with its pros and cons. There are even ones with special mechanics, but I won't talk about it to not spoiler it.

You can adjust everything to your liking from the colour of the enemy bullets to the rank you gonna start with.
You can basically create every difficulty you want in this game. On the highest one the game looks more like a dodonpachi saidaioujou in terms of bullet speed and enemy clusters.

The game is fairly short..the length of a normal shmup. The bosses are nice.

The price for this, my so called " playground", is o.k. . You get a lot of content and you can dictate what difficulty you wanna start at. The soundtrack is not as awesome as some other shmups, but still fits the mood of the game.

From me definitely a thumb up. This is a game from everyone and welcomes new players in the genre extremly well.

While I have to say that the game was fun, I can't recommend it.
The reasons are as follows:
- Less variety and number of different "chambers"...If you played Portal and know some of their puzzles than the puzzles in this game shouldn't be a problem. It takes approx. 30-45 min. to solve all puzzles with all additions....Soo yeah for me not worth it
- No online coop...Now if you have someone to play with at home you might ending up getting a lot from this game..For all others this section falls apart, unless you have a game controler. This way you are able to play coop with yourself...

The design is o.k. and the music is sometimes relatively good. But as stated the game lacks a lot of content that isn't worth the money.

This game can get very crazy in the late game. But visually and gameplaywise it is more of a game that you play from time to time. However there are leaderboards and ways to scorechase. The music is o.k. nothing special.
Think about yourself if the game is worth your money.

In conclusion I am neutral about the game...

When this game came out there haven't been that many good shmups on the steam market. But as it is now I simply recommend to save your money for better titles.

While I had really fun playing this one I can't recommend it. The game has some parts which can make it very challenging like the hardcore mode and endless mode, which is great. The scoring in normal mode is totally deifferent. It seems to reward bad play over good play leaving veterans and scorechaser fallen apart or losing their ability do dodge right. There is one achievement, where you have to get hit multiple times get a high enough score by taking your fallen powerups. For me this just didn't feel right.

The powerup system is a nice idea though. You can upgrade your main shot up 8 times your firerate 5 times and your secondary weapon 7 times. The ships felt quite balanced. There are enough ships for everyone's playstyle.
If your health reaches zero your ship explodes and the stage starts again.

But as stated in the first half of my review the game doesn't seem to reach the requirement for me to recommend it to other bullethell fan unless you want to try the hardcore mode which gonna kill you at the stage bosses.

The artstyle is o.k. for me. Nothing special. The stage bosses have highlighted parts when struck and are destructable. The patterns itself are mostly very easy to get through except for the last level propably, which is another reason for me not recommend it.

If you want to spend some money for a help programm you can still buy this game and have fun with it.

Overall the game is fun to play and has enough variety to play it from time to time, but for bullethellfans and veterans of shmups I can't recommend it since there are other titles you gonna buy earlier before this one: e.g. Crimzon Clover, Exceed series, Siter Skain's games,Mushimesama etc.

short:I recommend it for all ppl who like shootem'ups in general, but consider that it doesn't feel like a true arcade or classic game, which is the reason why I don't recommend it.

Saviors tries to bring the bullethell genre on a next level and misses the point. The gameplay is not comparable to normal shmups. That's ment in a bad way. The gameplay just feels plain. . The design hits the standards , but is more generic than outstanding. The appearance of the on the topscreen are making the game in some cases more confusing than fitting. The soundtrack isn't unique as well. There is one soundtrack to go for, the one in the trailer. The others are just like "not there!"...they sound monoton.

It's a playable little shooter for a short time. You are free to change your loadout in terms of weapons every level. Which is nice. But you don't get an arcad-ish feeling, when playing. That's propably the reason why I dislike this game. The game can be very challenging in the harder difficulties which is awesome. however, the graphics are kind of a downer in that part. The changed breakmode is also less interesting to me, as it feels not like if you are killing things faster that way.
