Perfection

Tho... it has a tendency to crash on win10 (despite trying most fixes out there)

This DLC wants you to ask for forgiveness from Marauder, cus ye have been too harsh on him. After all, the EASIEST encounter of the dlc is... double-marauder. By far.

The game is extraordinarily punishing. And it dishes out this punishment on the regular... with few saves inbetween. Amazing. I hated some encounters at first, but when you get over yeself and those 20 minutes of facing double marauder FIRST... (oh boy and thats just the start of the encounter) ... and then dish out death and denial against more sets of punishment? And manage to do that one encounter you felt you would hate, without dying? Satisfaction beyond belief. (And doing the ENTIRE dlc without dying? Even on Hurt me plenty? Respect, brother)...

The punishment is its own reward in a way

What i find lacking tho is... Soundtrack. Mick Gordon made shoes so big that its as hard to fill them, as it would be to beat the dlc on ultra nightmare, no death on first try. Andrew Hulshult is good, he can be an amazing musician... but in this case I would have appreciated him to try make his own shoes rather than trying to fill Mick's. If he made Doom tAGpt1 (the dlc)'s soundtrack his own? Instead of trying to emulate Mick? It would have been sooo much better. But theres barely any ost pieces i have a craving to have on my phone.

TL;DR:
The good:
- punishment
- satisfaction after the encounter is done
- punishment
- new demons that i love to loathe
- punishment
- more lore (tho i'd wish for even more... and different aspects)
- punishment
- to kill the god

the bad:
- soundtrack is an emulation and it wont sell albums unlike previous entries
- can use no other way but microwave to kill the Ghost (whom used to be the summoner before)... locking one in just one weapon's weapon mod to kill? Is not likeable

9/10 (great punishment, less musical spice)

First step you should do... before you even start playing: Switch UI theme to UAC. To lower the ui's 'bright neon lights in red district' effect

Now... 9,5/10 (until i know for 100% theres a sequel it wont go to 10/10)

On a first playthrough you will feel like the game is made as a punishment for your sins. You will possibly not enjoy yourself. Everything will feel like its everywhere. Too many types of demon to care about all at once. Your brain will be more crowdf*ckd then caligula's nights. And then... enter Marauder. And your brain will shut down into "maybe we should uninstall this" mode

But the first playthrough of the game is like if someone afraid of heights was pushed into parachuting...
First time is rough. You wont even notice the good music or the atmosphere. You will only notice your health bar dropping while you are surrounded by demons and your doublejump is interrupted by ♥♥♥♥ SAKE YOU ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CARCASS SHIELDS!

Second playthrough tho. If you did at least try to learn while in the 1st one. You will love the 2nd one. You will bathe in the action and let its Testosterone seep in like if it was always part of you... You will start to note the music, the tones, art and atmosphere... and you will love... Urda--- yes. Every snippet of lore will feel more revealing then bible. Every chant in the Gladiator will resonate in you like if your heart was made to drum it out. You will breathe Doom.

So, I would say, dont go into this game expecting instant love of everything. Doom is a case of learn and then love. Its the second playthrough that will make you love it more then your girlfriend.
