Like Half Life and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. mixed with a survival crafting game that doesn't suck, this is one of the most fun multiplayer games I think I've ever played

I have seen very few games do scale as well as Lorn's Lure has, and below the fun and butt-clenching platforming there is a vast and interesting world to explore. Very interested to see what Rubeki does with this game and any future projects.

This game so effectively spears nostalgia that it makes me feel a twinge of it for an era in video games I'm too young to have any connection with. I've never been so interested in playing an Atari game.

Early Access Review
Great little roguelike, dev is super active with meaningful updates, good difficulty curve with cinder modifiers, never feels unfair. Music rules.

Arrowhead just can't figure it out. Game has been in a broken state for months and they only seem to be interested in pushing collabs and warbonds.

Changing my negative review in light of the recent crafting patch. Now, all the systems in the game are in a good shape and everything feels very nice to play. We seem to be on the standard Fatshark track of pulling out of the morass of a terrible launch and into the game's golden age, assuming they can keep the content flowing.

Born into Fear is a fairly effective horror game, that sets the groundwork for (hopefully) a great horror game in the future by the devs.

First, lets get the cons out of the way. The buffers that roam the streets are pretty ineffective, and I had to let them catch me solely to get the achievement for it. Once I realized that I was safe in both the houses AND the streets, crossing them got much less tense. The chores, while having a serviceable in-universe explanation for why you're doing them at all, got rather repetitive, especially the ones where you have to haul a heavy object around the house. Finally, while the SCP-esque lore and background was interesting, it definitely feels less than fleshed out. You only need to read a couple of notes to understand where the plot is driving you, and though it's evident what Aegis did, it's never explained why. You can chalk this up to some government black-ops secretive black ink type of thing, but at the end of the game it just makes Aegis seem pointlessly evil and uncompelling.

Now that that's done, this is a pretty solid horror experience when it does choose to deliver it. The mannequins are creepy, both in appearance and mannerisms. I was especially unnerved by the mannequin that appears in the optional houses (although I don't think its nature is ever explained), and there were more than a few sequences that made me jump. The devs seem to understand that not everything needs to be a jumpscare to be scary, and the moments where you realize that a mannequin has moved and is now watching you from somewhere else in the house are great.

The game is short (I achieved 100% in less than 4 hours), but it's cheap and good for a nice horror stream. If another game with a similar atmosphere and scares but refined gameplay mechanics and story was made by these developers, it would surely be a hit.

A surprisingly emotional take on the Cthulhu mythos. I found myself wishing for a bit more tension or dread throughout the game, but the beautiful environmental design and passionate voice acting kept me hooked til the end. Firewatch with fish people and a satisfying ending.
