Honestly wish that this game was a lot more new-user friendly, because half the stats that the game says weapons don't make sense. What the ♥♥♥♥ makes an eco round? Why aren't all weapons available to buy? And don't get me started on some of the insane recoil with some of the guns, I literally feel like not only am I fighting the gun, but I'm fighting some other random aspect to the game. Why can I sometimes hit my headshots but other times, even if the reticle is PINPOINT accurate, it doesn't hit people's heads? And then my friends telling me I should change my crosshair, or try using different guns. I'm sorry, I've never needed to change a crosshair to suddenly be better at any game, and this is coming from someone who played as both Deathslinger and Huntress in DBD and know exactly where the center of my screen is. It's a very frustrating experience for someone who's just starting out.

I honestly really like Black Plague, don't get me wrong, feels relatively straightforward, no combat option like overture, it really is more scary and definitely a little less frustrating than overture with much more leniency on some of its scripted quick encounters. What I really can't recommend is Penumbra: Requiem, it feels like they were just trying to throw in more puzzles for penumbra. Like all of the puzzles just feel really forced and rely a little too much on their buggy physics engine. I get it...this game is old...but puzzles shouldn't make me want to pull my hair out because their own systems aren't cooperating. ♥♥♥♥, I played the Alone in The Dark Reboot on the xbox 360, and even that games platforming and puzzles was less frustrating than this games puzzles, at least it was consistently buggy and you could kinda work around it. Feels like with Requiem, I'm fighting the damn code itself.

Glad to have played this, it was like seeing the start of what has made Amnesia great over the years. If you've played the other Amnesia games like I have, I'd 100% recommend the Penumbra series (and at the time of writing this review, I have yet to play the next two titles). Having so many ways to play it, whether stealthily or focusing on combat, it was just fun all around. Of course this game is a little dated, but I seriously think that's what adds to it's charm, figuring out what to do, where to go, all without much in-game tutorials made me feel more immersed than any Amnesia game ahead of this games time (even if the few in-game tutorials are a little cheesy with the wording, it still adds to the charm lol). If more horror games had this type of approach rather than hand-holding the player, I'd feel current modern games would be so much more scary. Please give this series a shot if you've come to appreciate what Amnesia has offered you, I doubt you will be disappointed, and can even see for yourself how the developers have evolved their own mechanics over the years.

Yeah, not playing this at all now. RX 6600, Ryzen 5 5600x, 32gb of DDR4 3200 Mhz RAM, WD Black SN850X 2TB SSD. It is shockingly disappointing on any graphics settings I set it to, including lowest of the low with FSR 3.1 set to performance (tried setting it in windowed mode as well with a very low resolution). Stutters, crashing issues, texture flickers...like WOW! One of the worst ports that I've seen Sony put out, and I've played the Last of Us Part 1. It can't even manage 30fps on medium settings (which their requirements say I "should" be able to handle at 60 fps!) without stuttering throughout the environment and even during some combat sections. I more than meet their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ass requirements...and if I can't keep a stable 60 even on the lowest of the low...that's saying something else entirely. Fix your buggy game Sony.

Another way that Activision screws over their player base, was considering reinstalling after hearing about the h2m mod and how it would not only make this game safe to play again mulitplayer wise, but also add a ♥♥♥♥ ton of new content. Screw you Activision.

Wow, Capcom delisted the game so you can't see it in search. Obviously with nobody being able to play the game, they don't want others to see it to further tarnish their reputation. Stop releasing ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mulitiplayer games Capcom. Give us Outbreak already.

Really good game, decent story, plenty of replayability. You know what I don't like? The atrocious zombie spawning when making so much as a fart in a barn in the middle of nowhere. You know what else? The extreme lack of optimization even on great hardware (far better than what was out at the release of this game). Expect fps drops when moving throughout the world (especially when driving), occasional shadows glitching when enabling 4k resolution (with no support for 1440p without spending 3 or 4 brain cells to change some code). Also the performance with 4k is terrible, and it barely uses a fraction of my processing power on both my CPU and GPU! The hell? I have to constantly change the resolution for the game to play properly and sometimes even then it won't work. I'd recommend if you're okay with occasional stuttering and playing at 1080p, then this game is for you. I use RSR for this game anyways because it still looks damn good with that upscaling.

LIterally a crappy port released just like the Silent Hill HD Collection, issues running certain resolutions, lack of button prompts (insert placeholder save icon here for whatever reason instead of actual prompts), issues running anything higher than 30 fps. You know it says a lot more about the developer when somebody else releases a patch to fix their broken game. Overall, ♥♥♥♥ port unless you install a patch online which then makes everything fine and dandy. Still doesn't justify Konami's laziness. Every issue I mentioned is fixed by the patch, which if you're buying this game is a necessity if you're expecting a good experience. If you are looking for a straight Xbox 360 port that has QTE bugs, no helpful button prompts, and runs at 1080p on 30fps then by all means don't use the patch.
