Kill the Crows is actually a great little game made insanely frustrating with one single detail: You can't select your starting wave.

If I get to 601 kills, I should be able to start from 601 from then on, at least when using that same equipment. Having to claw back through hundreds and hundreds of enemies on one HP just gets old fast.

I know, skill issue, just beat the game perfectly in one go, but there's just no reason a game should waste players' time. And the item to have one extra hit of life doesn't refresh after killing a boss, there are basically only two "gear" items worth using.

Great little game, to the point where my biggest complaint is that there isn't more of it. I unlocked every character fairly early on, and had plenty left to do after getting the last item unlocks, but it was still fun to go through up to the highest difficulty. The aesthetic, music, and gameplay are all pretty nice, and if you're attentive there are few situations where you just couldn't prevent damage.

If I had to cite another complaint, it would be that skills and tiles are fairly hit or miss, which to an extent is to be expected from a roguelike. For example, there is ONE skill that can replenish health in the entire game, and technically two that can be used to get more money. All of them are from the same shop. For the attacks (which take the form of Tiles), the quality varies massively. You actually can get the basic katana strike early enemies have. You can also get a spear that strikes everything in double the distance for the same damage. There's a high-cooldown arrow, or a gun with double the damage and mostly-advantageous knockback. Modifiers can make some weaker skills viable, but there's still a fairly clear tier list.

It's got cats, it supports cats, and it doesn't pull any dirty tricks with where the cats are.

It's got cats, you can find them, you can adjust the colour scheme to not burn out your eyes while looking, and they all have names. What more could you ask of this?

A very rough Survivors-like with cute art and nice music. I only recommend it on a big sale or in a bundle as I got it, as it's passable in most regards, but exceptional in none.

It's a raising sim that isn't only in Japanese or extremely old (which unfortunately would include Monster Rancher at this point). You only need to gacha a character once to get the full experience of her and no characters are FOMO-walled, but only 10rolls guarantee an SR and income is quite slow.
The lore is much better if you learn the stories of the actual horses the characters are based on.

The balance seems hilariously bad and the optimization isn't great, but it's pretty fun with no characters hard paywalled so far.

Great concept, somewhat frustrating implementation. Give me dual-input ratshaking, give me better checkpoints, give me a sprint. If you REALLY want to impress, give me at least one gameplay-unlockable rat skin or dual-wielded rat-shaking.

I mean, it's cheap and short, so if you're a streamer it's probably a good one-off, but parts of this tried my patience.

Ghost Trick is a fantastic puzzle adventure. As someone who finds the Ace Attorney games a bit slow, I really appreciate the dynamic puzzle gameplay to break up the story, even though the plot is pretty interesting. My only gripe is that animations can't be fast-forwarded, only dialogue, meaning there's a lot of watching some characters be goofy or take their time with something.

I'd love a sequel or spinoff following new characters with how interesting the setting ended up being.

Early Access Review
Hunchback's Dungeon is very similar to Brotato, which is a compliment coming from me. If you like one of these games, I can't see you disliking the other, but there are some significant differences. Besides the obvious aesthetic shift, Hunchback's Dungeon is also relatively easy with most characters and has stats with negative values often apply the inverse of their normal effects. This is most prominent with the life-leech stat, dubbed Vampirism, which counterbalances itself by reducing other sources of healing.

For those unfamiliar with the genre, it's a variant of "Survivors-like" with 20 "waves" of enemies to survive before a run is considered one, broken up with stops at a shop for purchases of finite but flexible item and weapon options. This structure features the notable difference of having no direct metaprogression, with achievements and XP unlocking new items to find in runs, all of which will be beneficial to someone, but few of which are never a bad choice. To offer a different comparison, if you would like to put more thought into a game like Vampire Survivors or Holocure because the characters feel too similar, this is what you're looking for.
