DCUO is pretty awesome, I love the customization and combat style, a lot of great ideas well developed makes this game super fun to play. Now with that said, I believe it is very casual, I don't see myself playing it serious anytime soon. I have a long history with MMOs and can tell you this is great for the casual MMo player who wants to spend sometime on a game full of fun quests, villian/heroes bosses, and awesome pvp.

Pros:
Fun, well developed, Greatly updated, Awesome customization, smooth play style.
Cons:
You can't do everything as a "Free to play" since your max gold is 1.5k, Not all powers are available due to the lack of Membership / DLC download, same applies for weapons, you cannot use a shield in F2P mode. Only 2 Character slots because F2P mode..

I can list a lot more things, basically the game sorta blocks you indirectly to get you to get membership. However without Members you can still reach max level, recently started a new character as Fire/Staff and Im already lvl 28 in 3 days (Max lvl is 30) But Im assuming once I hit 30 and I want to buy gear, the 1500 gold cap will not be enough. I will probably end up getting membership, it is worth it as the game is fun!
