The game isn't flawless, but it is one of the best games of its genre with (at the time of this review) a solid community for PvP even if the game's in-game matchmaking isn't great.

As someone with an ungodly number of hours in the previous battleground of the gods, I have to say Smite 2 is shaping up pretty well with its steady open beta developments. It certainly isn't perfect, so I would respect people who choose to avoid this game until a full 1.0 release if planning to give Smite 2 a go. Saying that, I personally love the shifting balances as the game finds its "equilibrium" as it gives a lot of chances for players to strategize in order to gain an edge over other players.

Smite 1 inevitably needed an overhaul to a modern engine, and I'd say the current devs are doing a solid job considering the circumstances.

This isn't a horror game. It's a game of four mice vs. one cat. The mice have to gather enough cheese at the cheese generators to open the cheese doors. Fun game (except when it isn't).

An 11 year old game that has had quality development all throughout. Lots to do, lots of ways to do it. If you're looking for a time sink with fun game play and solid graphics, look no further.

It's fun.

It has some rough edges, but being early access I'm sure a lot will be smoothed out down the line.

Potionomics is a gorgeous game with complex game mechanics, a great soundtrack, and brilliant dialogue.
The core of the game is great, but could use a few refinements.

A few things I have to critique about the game is a lack of quality of life features with make the game a bit tedious down the line.
I would love to see:
-A recipe book (to save and recreate potions)
-A shopping list (to streamline rebuying certain ingredients)
-Improved sorting for ingredients and potions
-Deck loadouts
-Better hotkeys (I find a lack of being unable to hit the escape key to back out of menus and pauses annoying)
-Hotkeys for adding ingredients (maybe through a favorites menu - using a numpad)
Still a great game regardless

I've played Hearthstone and enjoy a good RPG, and the synergies in this game are fun to explore if that's your thing. This game can be very satisfying cooperatively once you get a feel for what cards you like. There is definite ways to play optimally but varied equipment and card drops each run make each game unique. Hopefully the addition of more cards and mechanics comes and adds more variety and need for adaptation.
