An excellent, high quality remake of the first ARK game... bar the issues so far with paid DLC. In Survival Evolved, all DLC was available to every player, barring the map itself. Any creatures were able to be tamed if added to other maps, and any items were able to be crafted so long as the player had the resources required. Survival Ascended has thrown this (frankly perfect) model of monetization out the window, adding paid creatures to unpaid maps and simply making them inaccessible to players without the DLC. Additionally, non-cosmetic items from the DLCs are uncraftable if not owned, and even if they ARE crafted by a player with the DLC, players without the DLC cannot use or interact with them. Until these issues are solved, I can't in good conscience give the game a good review, even if I do personally enjoy it.
