Early Access Review
First day of playing and I've nearly sunk six and a half hours into it. For a game that only released in early access a few days ago it is incredibly polished. It's got tutorials for just about everything so you never feel like your left in the dark, and things like crafting menus have the ability to show you all of the things that are made with each component. So far the only complaint I have is that the conveyor belt placement system can be a bit wonky at times. Other than that this game works just as it should and I cannot wait for what updates bring to this game in the future!

Basically, if you've ever liked games like Factorio or Satisfactory then you will definitely enjoy this game.

I'd like to start this off by saying that Mordhau is a very well made game, but there's quite a few reasons that I would personally not recommend buying this game unless you are within the handful of people that have what it takes to enjoy a game like this.

If you describe yourself as a very competitive player, and you strive to top the leaderboards of every game, then be prepared to spend 500+ if not more hours learning the ins and outs of combat in this game to even come close to the top of the leaderboard. The skill ceiling is very high in this game, and a majority of the playerbase nowadays are seasoned vets who've clocked hundreds if not thousands of hours into the game making them practically unstoppable. I love games with high skill ceilings such as Rocket League, but the problem that Mordhau has with it's skill ceiling is that newer players will get stomped every time. This leads me to my next point.

Mordhau makes me experience emotions that I rarely ever get to experience from other video games. I can't think of another video game that is able to recreate the feeling of winning a 3v1 situation where everyone is actively trying to kill you. At the same time, I have also never felt as helpless and out of options in a video game as when going up against a tryhard in Mordhau. Swinging and delaying attacks, feinting, chambering and morphing your attacks against one really sweaty player who blocks all of it, and then kills you with one swing is a feeling that just sucks. Both of those things will happen in every game, but chances are you will just end up remembering that one guy on the other team who killed you 6 times without you even landing a hit on them. It ends up feeling like you're trying to fight a brick wall, and the feeling can snowball and end up ruining a game for you.

One last thing to note about tryhards is that they fill up a good chunk of every game. You will notice yourself dying to the same handful of people in every game.

At the end of the day, I'd only really recommend this game for two types of players.
1) Those who do not take the game seriously and troll / mess around in every game
or
2) The ultra competitive, who get their enjoyment of a game out of seeing improvement, who can keep a level head, and manage their emotions well.

Since I feel that this game can only fit well for those two types of players, I just can't recommend a purchase of the game to anyone who doesn't fit under those two descriptions. It's probably worth a pickup if it goes on sale though

Campaign is impossible to complete if you don't play fighting games for a living. The AI reaches a point where it combos you so much where you cannot get off the ground and when you eventually do, every hit you get off does little to no damage and you immediatley get hit back into combo hell. Also, they thought it would be a good idea to make it so for every boss fight, you spawn in with less than full health, do less damage, oh and the boss takes less damage and has more health. Top notch game design.

The multiplayer is good though and allows for a lot of skill. But you have to spectate for like 5 matches first before you get to fight for 1, making getting better at the game really, really hard. The character customizer is okay and allows for some pretty good creations but trying to do specific things is infuriatingly hard due to how slowly everything moves.

Overall, do NOT get this game IF you don't play fighting games as your main type of game. If you do primarily play fighting games, you'll probably like it.

This game was fun untill you do PvP only. You can barely block attacks due to the lack of good visual/audio cues. Lets say im blocking for an attack coming from above, at the very last second the enemy can change their attack so they attack from the right, and you cant block it because you cant change your stance fast enough. After they proceed to get the first hit on you, they can keep attacking untill you are dead and theres nothing you can do about it. All around a game thats rea;;y not fun to play. 4/10.
