Early Access Review
Masterpiece.

It's an Early Access game, let's get that out of the way first - it's incomplete. But by god, the amount of stuff in already? I'm thirty hours in and I'm the guy who plays the least in my team. Got friends with onward of 100+ hours already.

The building system's FREEING. A blessing, and also a curse. You can build whatever you damn want, it just works really well. -- Until it rains. If it rains, the building blocks take damage (mainly Wooden stuff), up to 50% health, so stuff ends up looking manky. I'm sure they'll fix this stuff later on.

The world is huge. I love the vast expanse of the world, and the procedural generation doesn't feel forced into being too utterly random that it looks odd. It's all rather believable. You might think that the game's graphics style will turn you off, but honestly? It adds to the enjoyment. Think Old School Runescape with the sexiest lighting engine you've ever seen. And to top it off? Everything's destructible.

There's a long way to go, with bugs and issues plaguing this extremely hyped and successful release for Iron Gate - but I think we're all in for a good ride once those issues are sorted.

The movement system seems to be quite jittery when I move, I didn't seem to be able to fix this.

The UI itself seemed to be of low quality / pixellated on my screen, using my native resolution, I didn't seem to be able to fix that either.

For the multiplayer, I suggest to implement private servers and more control so random players cannot join you. (I didn't find a way to change that either.)

It would be good, but main features seem hard to grasp and I don't seem to be able to get into the game.

If you want to play the best military simulator experience, Arma 3 is your best bet. It has the combat, vehicles, weapons, it has it all. I have played Arma 3 for around 300 hours and it is still fun. There are a variety of different game modes that you can play: such as Wasteland, which is less serious than others; Life servers are for the ones who probably played a lot of DarkRP in Garry's Mod; Insurgency and Domination, they are also good tactically played gamemodes which are sometimes taken a lot seriously.

Lovely game, 10/10.
