Fantastic game that I only wish I was better at so that I could really get into the flow on the later levels so that I can experience those areas the way they really need to be seen: In one take, without dying a dozen times. Thankfully respawning is nearly instant so despite dying over and over to certain segments, it never felt like a chore.

In a similar vein, game length is near perfect. It has enough content that you constantly run up against new challenges for most of it's run time and things still feel fresh by the end game. It does what it does very well and doesn't overstay it's welcome. I'd rather wish for more, than wish that it would finally end already.

Shoutout to T0M for being a kick ass boss fight that made me feel awesome when I finally got the patterns down. Streaming that one level has sold more of my friends on this game than any other. Big props to the Daniel Deluxe for a fantastic soundtrack that I never got tired of hearing while wall running through the levels.

You'll be tempted to try to load up each run with the most powerful items and weapons. Don't. This game is at it's best when you have a limited selection of gear and have to try to work out creative solutions to get past the guards. Check out stories on the trading cards for ideas on what is possible. Each story was submitted by a user based on things that actually happened to them in game. It's great!

I was disappointed when I saw that Into the Breach was the next game from the devs of FTL. I didn't buy it until a week after release once I had actually seen the game in motion. Seeing other people playing this game and missing obvious moves that would have saved them from certain disaster is what got me to pull out my credit card. I could totally do better than those people I was watching!

Rusting Hulks are the best.

I don't think I'll ever be able to make it through this to the highest levels, but I can't stop hitting that restart button over and over and over...
