One of the most fun I've had on my recent years.

I enjoy the extraction shooter genre and have tried most of the games in this genre. It's giving the excitement Hunt Showdown had when i first started playing it just a less punishing. Since there's a lot of positive comments I'll try to focus on some things I feel need fixing.

1. You shouldn't get late lobbies whenever you have a custom loadout. Let people who have free loadout get the scraps since they're not risking their actual gear. This would also make free setups look for more fights in order to get proper loot.

2. The description for items can be misleading. Some items are described as things meant for recycling even though you need them for upgrades. Inventory management is part of this type of games but having a spreadsheet on my other monitor shouldn't be part of the game.

3. A little more gun variety would be nice. Maybe some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ 1 ammo launcher or another scoped rifle.

4. Server latency, the amount of times ive been shot just when i got into cover feels awful, I know this is might be the effect of the game having so many concurrent players and current server load.

5. Quest Variety. Add some PVP quests. I know people enjoy the Solo queue PVE thing that has been going on, but part of the fun is those life or death situations where you come out on top, the PVE feels nice just after youve experienced how ruthless PVP can be and it can become boring otherwise.

This are just some of my opinions and it's fine if you disagree. I'm just exciting an extraction shooter with proper soul is out there.

I have many issues with this game but the main one is the lack of depth in everything. This game could've been great if they had more time to dive into things but I feel like they were just able to dip their toes into every single thing instead of flushing out everything and knowing Bethesda I doubt they'll fix or remake certain things in the world.

I beat the game and all of its main storylines about 100 side quests and 95% of the missions are just walking and talking to someone and then going back, sprinkle some fights or some random tasks and that's it. Some main missions go into stealth (which is awful) and some have some substance in them, at least the final mission is gorgeous to stare at.

Some other issues I have are the following:
• You can just walk to certain areas instead of going through an elevator/loading screen, meaning the area is already loaded but instead of walking and showing you stuff they make it tedious.

• The leveling-up system and how difficult it is to level up is laughable at best. I reached nearly level 60 after 94 hours. Grinding scanning systems for hours, I gave up and just used a code to get my final achievement for reaching level 100. If you actually reach this level in a legit way... you could've spent your time playing other games.

• Creatures should have more variety, there are no mammals in the whole universe, just reptiles and insects look alike.

• Are there no phones in this galaxy? Why do I need to travel across the universe to simply inform something or someone?

• You should be able to keep your spaceship after a new game plus or at least keep the blueprint, spending hours creating a ship just to vanish. (The shipbuilding is quite nice when it works, it needs better explanation, but once you understand it you can make cool ships)

• Bugs that have plagued Bethesda since Fallout 4 (an 8-year-old game)

• No vehicles (Would just make the game less tedious, not that it matters since once you’ve visited a planet you’ve seen them all) (they added them, doesn't fix all the core issues with this game)

• Stop giving me 100 side missions just by barely hearing a conversation 20 meters away, it turns the mission tab into an overwhelming mess. At least sort allow me to change the sorting to something like “Missions in this star system”

• Rework the whole outpost system, it's so barebones and useless that you can completely ignore it.

• There's no point in exploring the worlds, they even added skills to completely ignore going down to a planet and actually explore it because I'm sure they knew it was pointless.

Would I recommend anyone to buy the game? Maybe. This game is not for people who like exploration people who want in-depth gameplay or people who want a rich story. The only people who should play this game should be people trying to see the Bethesda formula and they like space instead of post-apocalyptic and medieval worlds.

TLDR
A 6/10, buy another Bethesda game or revisit Fallout instead of Starfield.
