I'll be honest with you, I enjoyed playing this game. However, if you're planning to buy this game there's some important things I think you should know:

You're purchasing a game that contains microtransactions. They are for cosmetics, but still microtransactions in a paid game.

This game still has early access jank. It may be a fully released game now, but prepare to have endless interactions with buggy behavior, this didn't ruin my experience but it may ruin yours.

This game used to have a modding community. The devs of this game did everything in their power to make it impossible to mod this game. Do not expect this game to have a workshop in the near future because it wont. The devs are worried that people will circumvent their in game shop (a concern that was already addressed within the modding community).

The devs of this game do not listen to feedback.

Timeless classic that I always have fun playing. The modding community is also very good so you'll never run out of new content if you want it.

If you like hard games they just added a new difficulty in the latest update that's freaking hard. Probably not dark souls hard but not easy either.

This game is often compared to minecraft but this game actually gets the conquest concept right unlike minecraft and has boatloads more content.

Overall I would rate this game a 9/10 with only some minor complaints about how they render things, but to the average user it means nothing.

I have previously recommended this game but the more I play it the more flaws I seem to run into. The PvE aspect of this game is great, the gunplay is great. The stats are great, there is grind but not an unreasonable amount (to my knowledge).

The issues? Netcode.

Bungie has a habit of screwing the networking of this game very very hard.

Previously in PvP occasionally your shotgun wouldn't do anything, it didn't happen often but it was annoying, rubber banding was rare. Ping is regularly above 100 ms for no apparent reason, just enough to screw with your aim. Beaver errors galore.

Now in PvP, rubber banding is very common and very visible, shotguns literally do nothing 50% of the time, ping is the same. They also added a weapon in the previous update that most people can get immediately with the season pass that breaks any semblence of game balance, you'll know what it is because it stays on the ground and damages you for a very long time.

I cannot stress enough how frustrating it is to unload two shotgun shells into someone point blank and have both do absolutely nothing.

For reference I regularly play other FPS games and neither the ping nor the netcode are a problem in those.

This game is very cool, they did a great job with the atmosphere and a lot of the mechanics were really intutitive. My only complaints are the short length of the game and the ocasional part where it's either way too dark or hard to tell what you're supposed to do. It is definately a great atmoshperic game if you're looking for something short, sweet and like mystery a lot.

Also the game really needs an epilepsy warning. Probably shouldn't play if you are susceptible.

Since I last wrote this review the developers have fulfilled the majority of the things promised on release. There's now a massive wealth of content within the game to experience, you can build and play with other players (not a feature included with the initial release) and tons of story. It's still has a bit of a grind, but that should be expected to a degree within a survival game. I would recommend watching gameplay as always, but I still recommend this game.
