It's a lovely title.

It's very story driven with no words involved. You can FEEL emotions out of the different animals and people in the game. The easter eggs and other game references are very in-depth.. I didn't expect Journey to be one of them, but maybe that was just a fluke.

The story itself can be finished in about 4-5 hours. Which isn't bad. They put a lot of thought into the game and level design, and the mechanics and gameplay is rather fun.

I would say that I do have a gripe with the QTE's (Quick Time Events) that're in game.. as well as some of the mini-games that are 'necessary' to progress the storyline. Some would have your immersion broken and derailed, and you'd have to restart at a checkpoint quite a far distance away. Its a bit of a shame that there isn't any sort of accessibility options for players that may struggle with timed tasks. Some of the tasks are SECONDS or you fail.

With how cute this game is, it could potentially draw in a playerbase that cannot handle that sort of pressure. And in all honesty, it should be noted that IF they had some mean's of turning those settings off, and just letting the story play out, as some would really like that to be the case, It's just not in the game.

But yes, if you've got a love for animals, especially dogs, or if you've ever lost a pet, this game is both amazing, and dreadful, and you might cry, I did.

Enjoy it tho, I did!

I love Battiefield, I do; the campaign was good, short but really good. The multiplayer is fantastic, the co-ordination of teams is a little chaotic but that's to be expected if you don't know anyone in the groups.

The squad based system is back and its fun again!

REDSEC tho... only 3 weeks in and we've lost the soul of Battlefield, not only that, but now we have cosmetics that do NOT appear tactically, its all shiny gold wonky cartoon looking weapons.

Top that off with popular game modes that were actively played in the first 3 weeks, like "Escalation" are now no longer on the main page, they've been hidden away under "Custom Search" which drastically limits its matchmaking, and they're trying to force feed you REDSEC down your throat with Advertisements at the start of your games launch, and also with season pass garbage at the end of every match now. ( you can buy it if you want to; no one is stopping you. )

But they went back to squad based, trying to sell us the soul of battlefield that we had in 3 & 4, and now its rotten with the plague of Call of Duty...

Honestly, it wasn't bad.

They've taken some liberties and changed some movement throughout The Ishimura, but it mostly stays true to its source material; while also expanding on its story elements and giving you the opportunity to explore the ship with some downtime, and complete "side quests" which weren't a thing in the previous title back in '08.

The game is a little rough to start, and you can't go into it with the same mentality of the original, as I thought I could. Back in the day, you were rewarded for completing the game solely with the original plasma cutter, the first weapon you get. However, this game kinda demands that you utilise ALL of your arsenal throughout the campaign.

With added exploration I was able to squeeze out a game of 12 hours of play on medium difficulty, their baseline challenge, (roughly 8-9 of baseline campaign, with 3-ish of exploration and side quests).

Looking at how challenging even the Default difficulty is, i'm curious to see how HARD will be, and Impossible... that will be a real difficult experience. Good Luck!

I like how they can fill in the gaps of gameplay with some story and some content.

It's also cool that they made DLC for Furries and Anime lovers as well. They know their nerdy audiences well.

if you like overly complicated mechanics with real-life space reactions, its really fun!

Like the oribital KSP life i miss all those years ago

It's a bit quieter now than when it was during release, with HELLDIVERS 2 & Space Marine 2, it kinda lost its luster.

But it's still fun to play, and the unique classes and specialisations are what make it your own game.

Climbing the ranks and Climbing the difficulty is what makes the game fun, and honestly, coming into it now as it's more fleshed out over at launch, I'd swear you'd have a much easier time to be honest. (i'd sometimes considered deleting and restarting my save because of all content that i'd slaved over and was then deleted with tech-tree and masteries changes.)

Starting now is less painful than it was before.

Still fun tho~

Workshop is Better than DLC

I'll leave it at that.

Horror (More like Thriller) Game.

The particular theme isn't mine to spoil, and if you watched the trailers that might spoil a bit, I'd honestly say it's def worth checking out, but I wouldn't hesitate during a sale tho, that might make the shorter storytelling worthwhile.

You can cruise through it all quite rapidly as there are only short segments of obstacles that want to dead.

Story is well thought out and the dialog is superb, but if you can listen to it in its native tongue, all the better!

Play it in the dark or use silverscreen mode to make it more thematic.

if its too much just watch a youtube no talking gameplay video. Would still be worthwhile as a story. (they also have story difficulty incase you're worried about challenging being too unforgiving)

It wasn't my first choice of a game to play, and to be fair, I'd only decided to give it a go after seeing so many other friends on their hyper-fix for it.

Its fun, unique, has a lot to learn, a lot of meta-lore that either you can slow down and explore to learn yourself, or look some stuff up online. (as I did when i got frustrated trying to unlock new characters)

It's not my favourite game, and the gameplay loop does feel a little mundane, and without friends its less exciting, but with friends, (especially well knowledged ones) they may get caught up in speed-running ahead of you and stealing all the best stuff, and you're stuck in the backlines picking up scraps. :c

I'd recommend the game but I don't particularly like it myself.

Early Access Review
Its goofy, and its entertaining, and with a visually enjoyable means of communication, be it through voice or text to speech, its a fun little collect-a-thon game to play with your buddies, (or alone if you're braver)

Consistently receiving updates, and having an active player-base means its constantly being improved upon.

hop on with your friends, you'll enjoy yourselves! :D

Relaxing, Charming, Stylised, Easy to get lost in. . .

The music is a little sharp and jarring in your ears for extended periods, I've considered turned it off, or at least lowering the volume, if i could. (haven't tried yet)

the discovery system for learning new potions is neat, but is very demanding on your resources.

The bartering system is fun, but the timing required for some of it is a very unforgiving and if you can't handle QTE's, bartering is going to be a bigger pain for you than you'd want it to be. (kinda wish there was more accessibility in that field / tho haven't dug too deep there)

another gripe is that a lot of 'necessary encounters' with NPC's that're supposed to further advance the story are hidden behind a RNG spawner system. You might not see them for a while. And maybe you will but lack the necessary funds to advance.

READING IS IMPORTANT, don't skim stuff.
