I wasn’t sure what to expect at first - I'll admit the opening felt a bit slow - but after about 30 minutes, I was completely drawn in. The atmosphere builds gradually, and there’s this constant sense of unease that really works. The jump scares are few, but they're used well and genuinely caught me off guard.

What stood out most was how confident this game feels, especially for Surgent Studios’ first horror title. It’s clear the team knows exactly how to evoke fear - not just through visuals or loud noises, but through tension, pacing, and world-building. The story unravels in a way that keeps you curious (and uneasy), and it never leans too heavily into anything cheap or overdone.

The cast’s performance is also fantastic. Every character feels grounded and believable, which goes a long way in keeping you invested in what’s happening.

The puzzles hit a nice middle ground, not too hard, not too easy, which I really appreciated. As someone who usually quits if things get too complicated or just relentlessly scary, this was the perfect balance. It’s focused, well-paced, and I liked that I could finish it in around four hours. I’ll definitely be going back to grab the last few achievements.

If you enjoy story-driven horror that’s smart, subtle, and doesn’t waste your time, this is absolutely worth it. I look forward to seeing more from the team!!
