I waited 6 years for this update and i played some time, so here is what i think of the new beta version:
It takes some time to understand the mechanics an how to play it took me around 5 to 10 hours I think but it was fun to explore how the questing works and how to level up. But after a few hpurs I figured it all out. Ok ther is a lot of controversy and I just want it to make short:
Cube world is a fun game.

But that's my opinion and the game isn't perfect.
I played the alpha and theres a lot of controversy if the game had improved. In a few aspects it did but the alpha is not like the beta nowadays.
There are few problems the game still has and it is the progression. It´s cool to explore new lands and lores but doing the exact same thing getting items and defeat a boss to make your light shine brighter doesnt really feel like a big progression. The idea with the items is really good I think, but the skill tree, where you can upgrade your ablities is missing. The game needs something that lets you really progress after you finished a great quest. On the other hand would it be nice if there would be more interactions at he graveyards or in town. I hope there will be come more more updates so that ther is more to explore and to have more progress.
