I am absolutely disgusted with the propaganda Orbital pushes on a daily basis. He has this crazy idea in his mind that cereal is a soup. I think all of us free thinkers can understand that it is not a soup. Soup(s) are legally defined as "a food prepared from meat, poultry, fish, vegetables, grains, fruit and other ingredients, cooked in a liquid which may include visible pieces of some or all of these ingredients." Cereal, by this definition, does not count as soup. Orbital may proclaim that not all soups are cooked, to his credit he may be correct in some cases, ex. gazpacho. However, these soups are further processed beyond dunking the ingredients into the broth. Cereals are, to a degree, cooked, in production; however, primary consideration lies in processing with the milk to make one cohesive whole. To further discredit Orbital's point, cereal is cereal whether or not it is in milk. Cereal without milk is still cereal, however soup without broth is just vegetables, meat, or whatever aforementioned soup contained. And furthermore, the Supreme Court has ruled that common sense trumps technicality. This derives from a case arguing whether tomatoes are legally fruits or vegetables, and that although tomatoes are, from a botanical standpoint, fruits, decided that they were to be labeled vegetables as is the consensus of the people. This however could not be changed into a roundabout, "A large quantity of people think cereal is a soup, look at me I'm so funny.'' That is certainly not the case. This is because, among other reasons, if I told someone I had soup for breakfast, even a majority of freeloading morons who agree with Orbital wouldn't immediately think of cereal, they would more likely think of a soup like potato or tomato soup. Just because something shares common elements with a particular group or class of things, does not necessarily make it part of that group or class.
