Medieval II Total War (M2) must have been one of the best RTS games I have played. I have clocked in about 1,200 hours between the main game and the expansion pack.

Pros

• Battles have great terrains, AI, and strats for the course.
  
• Great political system/relations interaction between nations and the church system.
  
• Content is never dull, each game has unique aspects as to whom does what.
  
• Each nation has a different play style on the world map

Hands down will go down as one of the best RTS games created. The depth of the campaign storylines makes for amazing experiences, the maps have great detail with more options in the game than the previous chapters. As for the online features sadly the mode has decreased much with people playing it but you will still get games. Overall it is a great game and I would highly recommend it.
