It's good. It scratches the itch.

If you're going into this, thinking it will be an improvement upon the previous two entries... well, you'll find out.

Other than bearing as little NMH DNA as possible, it's not bad.

As usual, I read this game's reviews prior to playing - big mistake. Firstly, I accept that there are elements in the game that are, in contrast with NMH1, a clear downgrade. That said, these elements - like the streamlined boss battles, lack of city exploration, changed art direction, and altered (nerfed) combat, were clearly design choices made under the guise of "improving the formula". It happens, some changes suck.

Overall, however, this is still very much a NMH game worth playing - hell, it'll take you, like, five hours.

This game, as many have put it, is an exploration of mental illness in the "everyday" - I'd think that this game captures the anxiety of over-thinking to such a high degree, that, yes, it makes buying milk scary. For such a short experience, it's best that I leave most of what I have to say unsaid. It's a couple of dollars for a unique 15-minute experience that will cause more anxiety than, perhaps, any AAA horror game.

If you love the surreal, weird, and paranormal, then get this game. It's just excellent - the story-telling, character development, tone and atmosphere - all top-notch. I'll be checking out more visual-novel games, for sure.

People can now, finally, see for themselves how Oblivion is, and always has been, the superior title in the Elder Scrolls series. It's so good to finally have achievements, too. Apart from that, it really is as others have said it: it's Oblivion, underneath a modern skin. In fact, this remaster reminds me, speaking in terms of quality and likeness to the original, of the Resident Evil remaster. I believe this game deserves a spot up next to RE, as being one of the best remasters in recent history.

Game looks great, but performance is very inconsistent - not unusual for a new Bethesda title. Personally speaking, not many of the video settings could offset this inconsistency - I sit at around 40-50FPS, most of the time, but that can dip to as low as 15FPS, depending on the context. My PC isn't the newest - however, this is the first title I've played where I've had to accept subpar performance. Actually, I'm just happy the game runs, at all.

Early Access Review
Having arrived at this game from Infra, my hopes for a similar experience were high. Thankfully, Obenseuer is alive with detail, and only continuing to evolve with new/refined ideas. Prospective players should note that the overall gameplay loop can get very grindy, almost to the point of becoming boring. I personally suggest one balances their time between the many tasks this game asks of the player, so as to not get too bogged down in the repetitiveness of the whole thing, lol.

Thankfully, there is lots to see in Obenseuer, and plenty of people to talk to. When this runs out, however, one is not left with much of a game, unfortunately.

I haven't played much - however, when a game can hold my attention for more than five minutes, I consider that an achievement, in and of itself. The story is well written, the characters seems to have depth, and the central plot is engaging.

There are some elements about this game which let it down, especially when it comes to the gameplay mechanics/controls. As someone else wrote, this game desperately wants to be more than it is - it presents itself in real-time 3D, with static, 2D controls. What results is a weird juxtoposition of elements that, truthfully, don't work together. I would suggest an eventual remake this game, when the dev(s) have more experience, because I don't believe this is a "full realisation" of the artist's intent.

I haven't felt this way about a game since Minecraft.
