A creative concept asymmetric game plagued by poor balance, poor incentives, poor tutorials, and a community confused by whether something is a meme, toxic, hacking/cheating, inexperience, or just the randomness present in the game, because the development company churns out buggy updates and inconsistent messages.
The game is a grind to get any understanding, but the matchmaking is designed for beginners. Most DLC is for cosmetic changes, but also for licensed content (primarily killers). When queues for game lobbies are short, it is quick to move on from bad matches, but sometimes long queues add 5 minutes of waiting to play a poorly matched game for 6 minutes, followed by angry post-game screeds and taunts. There are hundreds of perks, items, and add-ons to modify play, but a handful are used because they are consistently useful, while others are longshots or just bad. Art design is impressive, but quickly fades in the face of cost in real money and performance.
The in-game tutorial is almost worthless; real education comes from watching the content-producers/streamers with 1,000's of hours playing and refining their particular set of "rules" of how to play. The emergent gameplay of vaguely-defined win conditions is defeated by the frequent reminders of teammates and opponents of how you played wrong in post-game-chat.
There are fun games, but they are rare in a flood of games with inexperienced opponents, opponents who have decided to chase an invisible number by limiting the actual engagement with other players (because that rules the latest version of matchmaking), and the occasional hacker or bug that holds your game hostage, until you disconnect and suffer a timeout penalty before the next game can begin.
The game is an endless time-sink, with very poor return on that investment.

Red Faction: Guerrilla with rebuilding to pair with the fun of disintegration, bright colors, new vehicles, and new game+, what could go wrong? Answer: a shooter on rails with level after level in caves and spider monster/aliens instead of human-appearance enemies. The moments of fun are drowned out by the boring-repetetive fights where there is next to no destructable environment and enemies that don't offer anything more than using the same gravity-gun style shrapnel battles over and over. Tearing down the floor doesn't do much when the enemies crawl on the ceiling. The use of charge mechanics further draws out the monotony with adding pauses between fights.

Fairly basic cover-system fps with excellent voiced story - instead of letting you revel in cathartic joy over "victories", you are presented with nihilistic reflection. A few weaknesses in teammate AI are generally overshadowed by the excellent development of their characters through the story (especially Lugo's). Later in the game, the loading screen quotes change from tactics to voicing of Captain Walker's demons - small touches like this show the priority of story over gameplay mechanics.

Short (<5 hours), but extremely unusual. It has been on sale for $1. First person shooter that makes shooting inferior to melee (FPM?), with crazy art style, average voice acting, and weirdly entertaining story.
