You are now required to link your Steam to PSN for "safety and security".
The same PSN that has a major data / customer details leak at least once a year.

Makes about as much sense as burning your house down to make it fireproof.

EDIT:
Sony walked back on the PSN requirement, back to positive we go

Basically a very good horde shooter in the vein of Left 4 Dead (doh), with a well done campaign, some fun rogue-lite elements and quite a few teething problems.

+ Large choice of weapons, attachments and characters
+ Card system allows for a LOT of customisation and playstyles. Randomised corruption cards (map hazards and enemy buffs, basically) can force you to adapt on the fly.
+ Good campaign design, map design and atmosphere in general.
+ In about 20 hours of play my group didn't run into any game/progress breaking bugs.

- Difficulty level can be somewhat incoherrent sometimes, not always because of the rogue-lite elements. Sometimes the game just goes "well, have 8 special infec-err special ridden at the same time, have fun" and on the next run you end up with 2 over the entire lenght of the same map.
- PvP is rather bare bones. No VS campaign, just small arena matches which esentially emulate the usual "push a button and wait till the door opens" situations.
- I have absolutely no respect for the ogre or the breaker (the Tank equalivent). Seriously, they're completely disappointing and barely fight back at all (but look great on pictures, I guess).

Early Access Review
I know this has been mentioned before, but this IS Rimworld.

Yes it has multiple z levels and... and... well thats it...

Mechanically it is pretty much a direct clone.
Imagine loading a old Rimworld version, think the early Steam release versions or so, setting it to medival only tech and there you go, you'll feel right at home.
Now don't get me wrong, I love Rimworld as much as the next guy and stealing liberating being inspired by the homework of someone who knows what they're doing is how I got through school myself, but this is blatant to the point that several menues are direct, almost pixel for pixel, copies of their counterparts.

Nevertheless, I had fun and I am going to keep playing this games further versions down the developement process since there is a lot of potential here (much more then in most other DF/RW inspired games I've seen); I just hope that going forward this will actually have ideas of its own.

As a DLC this is rather underwhelming. Of the societies only the devil worshipers and the assassins are any fun, although both are rather overpowered so I actually dislike using them. Hermetics are meh and membership in the monastic orders is pretty much completely uneventful and boring.
The society events and missions are repetetive and boring as well.

The new inventory system and the new councilor orders are in my opinion actually the best additions.

Why am I still giving a thumbs up?
Because the DLC and the accompanying patch are a great modding ressource, adding features that had to be cobbled together from duct tape and shoestrings before.
And who plays CKII unmodded, anyways?

Did you ever grab some friends, a ton of popcorn/beer and a really cheap B-movie, planning to watch it then tear it to pieces afterwards while you laugh at how horrible it was? But then you've finished it and you all agree that this was actually the best movie you've seen all year, and you wonder what the hell just happened?

This is that feeling in game format.

One moment you play a game with dated console graphics, voice acting so cheesy you can practically smell it, sometimes broken physics and repetitive gameplay.
The next you'll stand in a line with 3 friends and 10 NPCs all of you chanting "EDF!EDF!" over and over while you mow down hundreds of GIANT INSECTS with gatling guns, shout "did you guys see that?!" when an enemy mech brushes past your tank and launches you 500m into the air, laugh maniacally as you punch godzilla knockoffs while you sit in a 100m tall mecha and clear underground nests full of spiders with flamethrowers and napalm grenades.

Play it with friends and you're almost guaranteed to have a blast just because of the over the top ridiculousness of it all.

Got high on catnip, beat the crap out of some mice, broke some dishes, meowed a lot.
Now I finally know why cats enjoy being such jerks.

9/10, would be a jerk again.
