Game crashes constantly. Haven't been able to play for longer than 10 minutes without crashing.

  • I'm running an RTX 4090, i9-13900KF, and 32 GB of DDR5-6000 RAM.
  • I've updated my graphics card driver, verified game files, reinstalled game, etc.
  • Crash reporter shows this error over and over again
LowLevelFatalError [File:D:\_Gunfire\UE5\UE5-Gunfire\Engine\Source\Runtime\RenderCore\Private\ShaderCodeArchive.cpp] [Line: 354] ShaderCodeArchive::DecompressShader(): Could not decompress shader (GetShaderCompressionFormat=Oodle)

I'd like to play the game Gunfire - please fix.

TERA is hands down one of the best F2P MMORPG's on steam.

Pros
  • TERA has combat comparable to Dark Souls/Monster Hunter, so if you enjoy the combat in those games, it's likely you will enjoy TERA's combat system. Battles are precise, methodical, and adequately challenging in a manner that provides a fun and engaging combat system.

  • TERA is free to play, but not pay to win; everything that can be bought from the EMP (real money) store can be bought through the auctionhouse/market with in-game gold and the rates aren't as exorbitant as other games, meaning that even casual players can make purchases of desireable cosmetic items and the like, without having to grind very hard

  • The customization in this game allows for many different styles and preferences. The cosmetic items in this game, as well as the mix and match possibilities, are bountiful and every individual is bound to find something they like, whether they want a dark, serious, and brooding theme, or if they want to be a panda dressed up as a panda riding a panda.

  • TERA is very teamwork and role oriented, and each individual in the group fulfills an integral role in the party's success. On top of that, TERA is a very community based game and people are encouraged to do things together.

Cons
  • Sadly, the game is not as populated as I would like it to be. Despite the relatively low numbers of people playing, the community is welcoming and very eager to have new players among their ranks, regardless of skill or time invested.

  • TERA really begins to shine once you reach endgame, and the leveling process is more or less, in my opinion, just a barebones buffer to prevent brand spanking new players coming into level 65 dungeons without any game-knowledge. Rather than being rewarding and giving a sense of accomplishment, the leveling process is quite stale and uneventful. Furthermore, the story is rather bland and players can and will spam dungeons instead of leveling through quests.

Some people consider TERA's true endgame to be PvP. Personally, I don't like PvP in games that are largely focused on PvE, as the PvP aspect is usually not as fluid as a game designed solely to be PvP. However, if someone miraculously manages to master every dungeon, get the best gear, achieve every achievement, before a new update comes out, then PvP offers an endgame that can never really truly end or be beaten.

Note: I'm describing "endgame" as anywhere between hitting level 65 and becoming fully geared/versed in the hardest dungeons

Overall good game, 5/7
