$10 is a bit of an ask for a character that's already on the DVD I own. Still, you're missing out if you don't buy the DLC because it's Dante. Raidou is cool, but watching Dante whip out twin 1911s and just shoot the opposition is golden.

I'm aware Raidou has a revolver but he loses out on cool points due to not rotating the firearm when shooting.

It's interesting from an alignment perspective as well, because Raidou is a devil summoner, and Dante is a devil hunter. Both have experience with the obvious, but the notion that Dante is hired by Lucifer (someone high in Hell's caste, like Mundus) to assassinate various figures in the Vortex World is an interesting switch up for the "other human sort-of" character role.

Basically, Dante is broke and needs to pay his bills again so he takes on several hits from Satan himself and eventually gets wrapped up in a war between God and the Devil.

Maybe get the DLC on sale if you don't want to pay $10.

On a closing note, could Dante conceive his own reason? Or is he unable to due to being half demon? Is being half demon via birth different from being a demon via bug-in-the-eye?

Playing SMT Nocturne on Merciful is like trying to stay dry at a waterpark. You're here for the wrong reason, bucko.

As much as I hate paying for DLC and especially paying for ways to boost my stats, this does modernize the Nocturne experience to an extent.

E.g., the newer ports of PS1 Final Fantasy VII (Switch, not Steam) contain a 3x speed multiplier to make the game run 3x fast. Very useful for long grinding sessions.

*Spoiler Territory*

In a similar sense, being able to use the thick and thin grimoires definitely helps make the grinding bearable in this game. Using FF7 as a comparison once again, I've leveled up three Knights of the Round Materia on the Steam port without 3x speed and it took literally over a day, partially due to RNG. Still, with a 255 level cap being able to expedite the farming process greatly enhances the replayability and enjoyment of the game.

It's optional. Sure, it costs money, however no one is forcing you to use this. It does reek a little of pay-to-win in (potentially) the same ballpark as buying red orbs for DMC5 from the store. On top of that, it's just a different colored Yoyogi Park and Shinjuku Medical Center.

Overall, if you're a completionist or just really like Nocturne I recommend buying this DLC as it will save you loads of time. The price is a little steep for XP farming DLC, so maybe snag it on sale.

Oh man this game was incredible.
I initially slept on it, returning my switch copy because of image quality and thinking the lack of Konami and Unreal engine would make it less enjoyable.
Boy was I wrong.

It's basically Symphony of the Night with HD graphics. The gameplay is a blast and the typical metroidvania formula with a twist in gameplay and visuals. The crafting and materials section is a neat way to maximize your resources and obtain new gear, though a pain in the end to grind the DLC. More on that later. I remember going up the far tower in the east and being in awe of the spiraling camera. Such visuals really push the 2.5D element to it's limit in the best of ways.

For those like I that love grinding, there's plenty of OP equipment to acquire and abilities to upgrade, much like in Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow but with items as well as acquiring more of the soul in question. Lots of OP shards to obtain as well.

There is DLC, but it's pretty cheap and worth it given you earn the content in a fun manner and it's not just a DMC5 1,000,000 Red orbs purchase.

The music slaps, the gameplay is fantastic, and the cast kills it with additions such as David Hayter as Zangetsu. I cannot recommend this game enough and strongly encourage all metroidvania fans to buy this title.

Software that does exactly what it says it does. Very useful if you use a desktop as a daily driver but still want to enjoy a TV show without getting out of bed. Highly recommended if you need to minimally act with your system at a range.

Another fantastic trilogy made and ported to Steam by Scriptwelder!

Experience three vastly different stories in differing locations and time periods and uncover the unique horror each one holds. Definitely worth your money and provides for an enjoyable yet tense experience.

Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD Edition, a port of the Xbox 360 version, which was based off of the 2007 Wii version, which takes the not pre-rendered cutscenes from the GameCube port and the content from the PS2 port. What a history.

Well, it's at least a complete version of the game. However, by itself it does have some glaring flaws, such as not all textures actually being HD like the name implies. This is is only the tip of the iceberg, as there's noticeably 60fps related issues. Some are minor like ammo drops and other miscellaneous interactions, however by far the biggest change is QTEs. Because of the way older games were made, increasing their framerate increases the literal speed at which the game runs at, like in an emulator. This is similar to the Super Mario 64 PC port in that the doubling of frames requires the doubling of inputs to keep up with the additional 30 frames. Combine this with Professional mode's decreased QTE leniency and instances such as getting knocked off by Del Lago a second time practically impossible.

Fear not, as the RE4HD Project and RE4 Tweaks fixes these issues, enables additional customization/functionality, and is free to download. There's legitimately no reason not to get them (other than the former requiring ~40GB of storage).

Overall, the port does it's job. Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD Edition gets the game onto Windows and it runs. Honestly, aside from the QTEs the port does a good job of being playable and allows for a unique experience using a keyboard and mouse. The game is smooth and feels like an upgrade compared to playing on console. I definitely recommend this port, even with the remake out as of writing. If you haven't played the original you are missing out and there's plenty of fun to be had. For any remake fans, there's *spoiler alert* a skin that makes Ashley invulnerable turning the game into a cakewalk! I got this on sale for at $4.99 so I can't say I wasted my money in any capacity. $20 is a bit pricey IMHO for such an old game, especially for a digital copy. I know I just said I got it for less but considering the remake is out and some of the flaws... it's still a good game. You might get stuck on a section or two but you'll make it through this awesome adventure. On sale, you can't go wrong.
