My non-recommendation is in no way based on the game itself. Mass Effect is deservedly regarded as a treasure of the gaming community. The problem is that, even when buying it through Steam, you have to use EA's garbage platform, which doesn't work for a lot of users. There are ways to work around it, but it's a ridiculous process to have to go through in order to play a game you have purchased a legal license for.
