It doesn't do anything new or too innovative except the horde mechanic perhaps.
But everything that it does do, does it perfectly and polished.

Also the story is lowkey really good

The ultimate souls game, a giant mix of all the previous titles combined. The exploration is so fun, engaging and rewarding, combat is tight and allows for variation and builds seem overall all viable, environments beautiful, boss designs best so far from has done, enemy designs plentiful and varied, crafting basic but helpful and welcome, tons of quality of life improvements from previous games, world doesn't feel empty or tedious to traverse, lore so far is very interesting Vaati will have a field day with this one. Also not revealing the whole map was the best decision FromSoft made, the map as you play just gets bigger and bigger and bigger. The only negative thing I can say is that dungeons seem to be a bit repetitive in design, but the boss fights at the end make up for it.
Game of the year, dare I say decade?

Who needs crack when you have this

A little over 30 days and already the game has surpassed many AAA titles. Has over 5 million copies sold and is currently the third most played game on steam with over 400 thousand average players. And probably quite a few of your friends on steam are playing it. The numbers speak for themselves.
Is it a perfect game? Of course not, after you pass the mid point you realize you are mining and smelting more than anything else. And the difficulty spikes are quite weird and could use some work. Also could use some optimization.
The game is still in early access which is just mind boggling, and frankly I cannot remember when was the last time I sunk so many hours so quickly into a game. It simply ticks all the boxes for addiction.

One of the best games ever made period. I would recommend not even watching a single gameplay video. The less you know about it the more you will enjoy it. The only thing you do need to know is that it is a exploration adventure game, and that's it.

I bought it 2 days before it went on sale.... So there's that. But honestly I'm not regretting it. I haven't had so much fun with a game in a while. And I can't remember when I was so hooked on a game, actually excited to replay it.

Redundant, boring, and at the end just waited for it to end. The story starts good and by the end I was banging my head against the wall how poorly the ending was written, so rushed and simply put dumb.
It's as generic as a shooter gets with a couple differences, like the laser feature and the duel wield (which is nothing new as well, reminds me of the nitro family game).

If you like basic brainless shooting you will like this, otherwise save yourself the time.

The game looks amazing, the music sounds amazing and the gameplay is tight and really really well done.
The story is ok (which now after the update is optional and stupid in my opinion) if you haven't played the first game like me experiencing it for the first time will be amazing.
Is the game repetitive? Yes it kinda is, there is SO much to do in this game its mind boggling but unfortunately it's just vanilla covered in a hundred different condiments, its still plain vanilla underneath. Go there shoot x amount of x enemies, finish x amount of x activities etc. BUT of course if you like that kind of stuff you won't mind it, just like other games that have similar issues. Also the endgame is just so tedious and grindy it gets really boring really quickly. I just wish the game was more like the red war campaign, story based? But thats just imo.
