Was this even playtested? I've encountered numerous game breaking bugs one even locking me out from using one of my faction mechanic entirely.

It’s genuinely great fun for the first 20 hours or so. Right up until you start noticing how unpolished it really is.

Mariner doesn't even have a level 275 skill.
Naval battles almost always devolve into a chaotic brawl.
The AI is simply incapable of proper skirmishing while on boats.
Even in medium-sized engagements, pathfinding breaks down completely. AI ships will sail straight toward the enemy while supposedly in skirmish mode, only to get hooked and locked in melee for the rest of the battle.

The ships themselves are also painfully slow to maneuver, so even when you try to play tactically, the game just doesn’t give you the responsiveness you need. On top of that, each kingdom only gets at most two variants of light, medium, and heavy ships (if even that) with the upgrades that you can install being barely noticeable, which makes naval rosters feel extremely limited and every ship samey apart for the amount of troops that fit on each ship.

Here is something else that makes no sense: when you have the cap for it you can recruit around 400 troops while you’re on your ship, but the moment you disembark your troop limit suddenly drops to 200 because you loose the benefits that the ships provide. After a day on land, the troops that are over the cap just mass desert. Why isnt it possible to garrison the troop that are now too much, on the ship so they dont mass desert leaving you with an undermanned fleet??
It’s mind boggling how an oversight like this made it through testing.

Don’t get me wrong. This addition is fun, and the idea has a lot of potential. But the longer you play, the more you feel tempted to autoresolve every naval battle. Unfortunately, autoresolving punishes you with like 10 times the losses you’d take compared to literally jsut being AFK in a manual battle.

The beginning (first 10 floors) of the game is needlessly difficult and once you get past that the difficulty then drops immediately after not even 20/50 floors in to the point of you literally becoming immortal. Apart from that gameplay wise it seems pretty good with an oblivion/skyrim type skill level system. However the starting classes definitely need some reworking. Some are just completely useless while others are completely overpowered with some in a nice middle ground.

Overall id give it an 8/10

Absolutely incredible as a first time 40K for me I can say this is what we need more of instead of something like Dragon Age Veilguard.
