P.S. Racing might not be the best cause of the lack of tire thermals, but doing a hotlap in a car you modded is fun af.

Great story, side quests and minigames.
100% achievements on Normal difficulty was relatively quick.
So glad mahjong was not a requirement for 100% achievement.

Great game but requires polishing. Have experienced certain bugs that made it quite unplayable time to time.
Either snag it up when its on sale or when its fully released with most bugs ironed out.

EDIT: With 1.0 released, I expected a completed and polished game with little bugs and more QoL added that has been requested by the community. However, what we got was a half complete mess that feels like Early Access 2.0. Really disappointing release. Still a fun game to play but much more is desired for a full release.

EDIT 2: After not playing this game for a considerable amount of time, I came back after seeing the game size was finally optimized (100+GB down to 38GB right now). However, they decided to censor all the dark themes in the game which I find stupid. The whole unique point of RoN which made me buy it years ago was how dark and gritty it was. Now that the dark and gritty setting of the game is gone, the charm is lost. Some of the maps lore now just feels stupid.
E.g. Valley of the Dolls. Before the censorship, it was an Epstein case. After the censorship, Mr Voll just got some fetish for dolls???
Now the game feels like here and there with nothing to make it unique. Bring back the original version with no censorship for the PC version. Or at least allow the mods to bring it back instead of banning them.

TL;DR: Censorship ruined the charm of the game, feels like the original product I bought is gone and no longer available.

P5S is a good Hack-and-Slash that can be enjoyed by any players, be it existing Persona fans or new players.

P5S is a direct continuation from the base game, Persona 5, but can be enjoyed even without experiencing the base game itself. This allows Persona fans to enjoy the story continuing from its original ending, but also allow for new players, experiencing the Persona series for the first time, to enjoy the game. The story isn't anything too great but is good enough for an enjoyable experience. The story is very linear, meaning the choices made by your character will have no impact towards the endings. The dialogue options only affects how the other characters will respond and could make for some funny interactions between characters. The character interactions are great and provides lots of humorous and some badass moments.

The gameplay is where it truly deviates from the usual Persona Series. All previous installations of the Persona franchise (Not including spinoffs like Arena or the Dancing games) were mainly Turn-Based JRPG, but P5S is a Hack and Slash.
This makes the game more fast-paced and action packed but could be a turn off for those who enjoy the strategy of Persona games.

P5S is also significantly shorter as compared to the other Persona games. It took me 40+ hrs to clear the base game and could easily be cleared in a shorter amount of time as I took the time to do every requests and search every nook and cranny of each jail. Also there is still New Game+ to play which could easily take me an additional 20hrs or so. Making the total game time to be around 50-60hrs.

Overall, I would give this game a solid 7/10. Gameplay is good but certain parts felt repetitive (especially farming Persona Points to fuse certain Personas in the later part of the game). Story was pretty so-so but the character interactions were great. I would recommend buying this game on a sale for anyone who enjoys Hack-and-Slash or are Persona Fans.

EDIT: Took me an additional 25hrs to complete all achievements. Have yet to complete NG+ playthrough, but doubt I would finish it. It is still a fun game to me but to 100% it did not feel as fun as just completing the game on the first run. It lacked the replayability that all base Persona games have but the challenge that Merciless posed in the early stages of NG+ was indeed quite challenging. However, once you fused a few max stats Personas, the game becomes quite a breeze and just knowing how to use Status Ailments and Technical to your advantage to wipe through most bosses relatively easily. This does not change my rating of it as to 100% a game is more of a perfectionist or if the game is really one of your favorites. In my case, its just that I really enjoy the Persona series and just wanted to 100% it as I wait for other Persona ports that.

Awesome game, cant wait for P5R port in 10 years time.

Glad to see Gearbox taking the time to improve the game with the newest DLC. Have yet to purchase it but would get it soon.
