This game is a little disappointing. From some let's play footage or trailers you might think it's "Amnesia" meets "Rugrats." It's unfortunately not. Calling this a horror game is... generous. Atmospheric to be sure, but a horror game it is not. And it's a damn shame too, as there are plenty of elements that would have made this a perfect mixture of scary and creative.

Elements such as pulling out shelves and chairs to reach destinations or hide; a teddy bear that glows to comfort you, but lures monsters; or a running mechanic that makes you trip because you are only 2 years old. Hells yeah I'm all about it.

However, this is all meaningless as you will have a total of 2, maybe 3, encounters with a monster. It's mostly you just crawling around with a light source you'll rarely need, finding treasure and looking at beautiful environments. The developers look like they put a lot of effort into the maps, and it looks like they had more planned for the game play with plenty of places to hide. Unfortunately, most are a pointless decoration.

Also, I saw the story coming a mile away. Maybe that's the point? But crawling around Manor de Grand Mariner to find out your mom is a turd burglar wasn't all that impressive to me.
At the end of the day you get a 2 hour, semi-pretentious, game that's overpriced at $20 dollars. 6/10 worth a buy if you buy it on sale.
