One of the cutest 3D platformers I've played. It merges jumping puzzles perfectly with other action games that share its DNA. Mario 64 and Sunshine coming to mind directly, but also taking lessons from more modern collectathons and merging its incredible it into an experience you'll never truely forget about.

Worth it at full price if your already a fan of games like it, and aren't too much of a loser to embrace how adorable this game can be at times.

It took a while, but they really pulled this game around on most fronts. Slowly, I've watched it become a worthier successor to its predecessor, Payday 2. Which let me clarify, is still the goat in comparison. But Payday 3 now offers a lot more than it did on its flop of a launch.

An array of skill changes, followed by the inevitable Armor and Skill 2.0, coupled with a multitude of weapon adjustments, balances, several much needed quality of life additions, and gameplay tweaks make this a whole different game.

Its something cathartic, assuming you don't mind the edgy virtual violence of shooting through a police station or even an New York State court house.

Alternatively though, it can be for the gamer who wants a fresh challenge for their brain, to be a ghost and stealthily rob the rich or corrupt from under their noses with a cool crew of likeminded heisters.

It's a lot of fun for a little while, and after several short breaks playing regularly since its utter tragedy of a release, I can say confidently that Payday 3 has massively improved. Though it still falls a far bit short in the shadow of Payday 2.

The lack of any offline mode in the event of an eventual server shutdown is still frustrating and a perpetual issue however, and is always a huge disclaimer I like to give for Payday 3. Its outright worrying to any gamer.

Until then, this games a hesitant recommendation to grab this fun project and do some crimes on discount. Which to the developers credit, seems to happen fairly often.

Most idles are trash and a waste of time, but this one makes you think. One of the rare idles that might even be worth a more serious gamers time, which I'd say is one of the highest compliments I can give a genre this casual.

Constant performance issues make this a really hard sell to anybody. Crashes, server disconnects, maxed out CPU's and GPU's, booted to offline, all very common issues me and my group faced playing through this. And the worst part, is several of the early fights are a total snoozefest, only really forcing you to use your brain towards the tail end.

Title Update 4 Edit: After playing a good bit more, with 4 updates worth of content, I can say everything that's been added post content is a blast. Gogmazias makes a fantastic return, and so does Lagiacrus, King of the Sea. Some great arch tempered fights also really even out the lack of difficult fights, and make it more enjoyable overall if you can tolerate the performance issues. It's a cautious recommend on discount.

UPDATE ON THE EDITION OF EVERDARKS BELOW

I 100%ed this game just to say how trash it is in comparison to the rest of this game studios catalog. The first souls game I've played where I genuinely feel like the challenge is mostly artificial, which is a massive shame. I've adored and cherished every single game we've gotten out of Fromsoft, but this just doesn't feel like its it.

Half baked fortnite-like storm mechanics and huge numbers that leave me chipping away at bosses until they finally die doesn't make me feel skilled, it just feels like a huge massive waste of my time. And it certainly can be, taking over an hour of play sometimes to even attempt a Night Lord again.

Ironically, some of the Night Lords, treated as a reward for completing two inflated HP boss rushes, are among some of the coolest souls bosses yet. Just wish I was fighting them in a more interesting game.

Even if your a mega fan maybe skip this one, unless the three player aspect really appeals to you. Just keep in mind your playing more of a numbers game this time around then a test of dexterity and memory.

Update: After finally getting around to playing through most of the everdark sovereigns, I can safely say they feel more gimmick than a meaningful challenge. Even the newest edition at the time of updating this review, Libra, is basically just the same boss with several NPC's from other games copied over. It feels lazy, and that's pretty unfortunate.

This games a total sleeper hit. When I saw the game was free for the first few days, I was looking for a catch. But there really isn't one. Extremely well done co-op shooter, stable servers, fleshed out mechanics, and a variety of challenge runs and other variations.

At the time of writing this review the only issue I have is the fog circle meant to keep the team from splitting up. Its far too small by default and causes issues, especially in a full 4 person lobby.

Otherwise? An extremely solid and cheap co-op game that you have no reason not to grab at the cheap price of $5 USD, what's stopping you?

I'm pretty sure the only people who play this game got tricked by their friends. Nothing of value here unless you really really like watching horse girls run and occasionally sing.

Even if you do, maybe just watch the scenes on Youtube instead of spending however long grinding this trashy excuse for a management sim.
