The deeper I go, the quieter it gets.
Every sound, every word, every pulse fades until only the silence remains —
thick and heavy like wet soil over a coffin.
I used to fill the void with laughter, with noise, with anything that sounded alive.
Now I understand: the silence was never empty.
It was listening.
