i never played this game as a kid yet it still charmed my socks off 30 years after its release, even despite the clunky controls

it's obvious that the team behind this game loved creating it; the colorful voice acting and character designs struck a real chord with me. few games find their own charm in the way that twinsen's little big adventure does, which makes it absolutely worth playing in 2026

feels soo good to move around in. not much casual/singleplayer content but if you want to learn and take a competitive platform fighter seriously, this one will treat you the best

I really love this game, and I would actually recommend it, but I'm leaving a negative review because of the pricing/approach to DLC by the developers.

I don't know how people that aren't me or my friends play this game, but I feel that the strength of this game is easily its editor and the community levels. I play the community levels far, *far* more than the official levels, so seeing that a new DLC pack is effectively $9 for a course I will play for 30 minutes tops is discouraging. More than anything, I look forward to a DLC map release for new assets to use in the editor, but I can't in good conscience buy them just for the assets when it feels like an afterthought by the developers (they're often disorganized and clearly only the assets required for the official map, with no cohesion among the different asset packs).

I would love if the developers played more into to the clear strengths of this game (being the editor + community levels), maybe even making a DLC pack focused solely on purposeful and polished editor assets/features. I definitely recommend getting the base game and playing community levels with your friends, but the recent DLC pricing schemes feel out of touch to the playerbase.
