Haven't tried board mode but even without it it's one of the most popular game in my local party sessions. Haven't had any issues so far

Wanted to relive the experience of playing the Warlock mod at LANs and MageQuit has delivered on that fully.

Biggest difference (and upgrade in my opinion) is spell drafting instead of purchasing. Not having 18(?) different spells to buy/upgrade from the first round makes it so much easier for new players and drafting makes it so you can't consistently pick the same spells every game, while also balancing gameplay by removing the snowball aspect where if you got the lead in gold you'd have more/better spells

Fully expected it to be a dead game when I bought it but was pleasantly surprised that it has continued support of the developer who's pushing out patches every month-ish, adding new content and bug-fixing.

Haven't tried playing online (and don't really intend to) but as a casual local party game I recommend MageQuit
