We are so back

Had a lot of fun playing this passion project! Challenged myself playing it first on Hard Mode and it was hard enough without needing to grind at all other than for the final boss. After getting slapped, rather than grind for levels, thinking a bit and adapting my strategy was the only thing needed to attain victory.

The story was something else! Some twists were predictable, but I was actually interested in learning the lore of the world and there were some heavy and mature subjects that were well tackled, in my opinion. The characters were all well fleshed out and all had their arcs.

The combat system works very well with all the damage types associated with weapons and discovering enemy weaknesses during combat. We're supposed to be able to guess them based on the enemies' artwork, but it isn't always super evident, which is alright, imo. Doesn't have to be, either. A bit of guesswork can't hurt and there are analysis abilities to help with that too. Speaking of artworks, they are all very well done and gorgeous. Most of the bosses were very impressive and intimidating, except for one that disappointed me, it was just a recolor of another monster. The magic system is also really cool and while there is always one very specific weakness to a magical enemy's element, there are also always other less effective weaknesses that still get the job done.

Overall, I would recommend this game to any fans of old school JRPGs like Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger. It is a work of love and passion from Nostalgia Addict Games and deserves the praise.

I cried my heart out at the end of Episode 2. Best characters I've seen in a while, rich story and epic moments!
