This is an easy recommend. I've been playing since the first game on PS2. I've loved the series for two decades.
The game is amazing. The new environments, the new monsters, the seasons and inclemency systems are great. The Seikret is an awesome pal. The cast of characters are brilliant and the story is solid if a bit drawn out.

The game may have performance issues on your PC. It's intensive in some aspects, but improvements have been made since launch and hopefully more to come.

Update 29 May 25:

People are upset because they failed to understand that a defence mission against a constantly attacking enemy can't be 'won' only held.

Equality-on-Sea stands, as does Prosperity City. We will not give them either.

This review will remain negative as long as Capcom continues to use Enigma DRM on this and other MH games.

There is no need for DRM in any game, let alone one this aggressive in a game that has long past release.

Studies consistently show that DRM does little but hurt paying customers. People who pirate were very unlikely to buy the game in the first place.

It's a Lego Star Wars game. It should be amazing, but it's let down.

1. The game is buggy. From character selection to missions not allowing you to complete. Mostly minor apart from the Maz's castle bug, but they're frequent and annoying enough to kill your drive to keep playing.

2. The actual story missions are too short and too few. The focus is on the open world which, while great, means there's not a lot of cool stuff to do with the characters you unlock. Especially since enemies end up not spawning anymore.

3. No character creator. It's a let down because with this game's class system we could've had the best way to choose what your character can do.

If they fix the numerous issues with the gameplay then this will be a straight recommend. Until then I can't encourage devs to think this is acceptable.

It works. It works and its very clearly Star Wars. It feels more Star Wars than both of the latest Star Wars films.

That's worth the price of admission alone.

I cannot in good conscience recommend this game to anyone, even as a huge JP fan.

The game itself is shallow but visually interesting. Everything looks amazing, but there's little to do with it. Dinosaurs come in several limited varities with a couple different skins/stats.

Most notable is the large carnivores, which share the same animations as the Rex, but vary in size leading to terrible clipping/telekinesis. The sizes themselves aren't accurate to real life OR to the JP franchise, and the devs have given a BS response as to why this is, instead of admitting Universal wants Rexy to be the biggest.

The three factions you aid as park manager are utterly insane and not different from one another, but all have the needy impulses of a psycho ex, with them all attempting to sabotage your park and kill your guests should you look at another faction for too long.

Unless the devs make a concerted effort to FINISH this game, my review will remain as such.

Good idea.

Worst execution possible.

Move on and spend your cash elsewhere.

I've bought this game on three separate platforms.

Take Two's b o l l o c k s makes me wish I hadn't bought it on any.

This compilation of information should give you every reason as to why you should not buy this game.

I do not know if this is because of pressure from Sony, ineptitude from Hello Games, or because Sean Murray outright lied and/or overpromised this game, but what you are shown on this store IS NOT the game you will get to play if you purchase No Man's Sky.

No Man's Sky is a repetitive, pointless expedition into a vast universe of identical planets, each with their own slightly different instagram filter.
