a fantastic game to play with up to 3 additional friends.
emergent gameplay with the everpresent threat of other players makes SoT a really unique experience with you and your team taking on roles to get ahead.

oh, and always have a lookout

A fantastic, Beautiful romp through deep space, Void Bastards provides an experience with a rewarding progression system and gives players great replay value due to the sheer amount of things that can go wrong or right. It also includes additional challenge modes which limit equipment usability.

10/10, personaly one of the best games i've ever played, amazing depth and gameplay.
frequent and large updates that add new elements to the game and can change how you play/gather/build.
many dinos already with more added every week or so.

definetly needs optimisation, but other than that 10/10

DAYZ:STANDALONE had the opportunity to be an AMAZING game, with epic material and features in the modded version (epoch, overwatch, ect). However the standalone is underdeveloped and suffers from an understafed development crew.
With a PS4 version coming in a few years, and the current pc version in it's curren state, rapid development of features that we all want (vehicles, traders and building) is unlikely to happen.

instead of a development of the mod containing all of it's features with extra features added to enhance the game, DAYZ: STANDALONE is borderline EMPTY compared to it's origonal modded counterpart (and both are DWARFED by contents of the OVERPOCH mod). STANDALONE has about 35 weapons with another 15 weapons planned in further updates compared to the hundreds in the modded version, and the 1000ands in the overpoch mod. including the chainsaw in the most recent trailer.

on the subject of the most recent trailer, NONE of the content shown in it is in the game currently (please disregard this if you are reading this several months or even a year later) No dramatic suicides (although julping off a building will do that just fine) NO chainsaws, and holdups CAN happen however without the Humanity system from the modded version, they are rare, because players will just kill on sight.

(positice features are coming in this review, bear with me please)

the game is being shifted onto ANOTHER (the 3rd) engine, because of the problems with zombies walking through walls , which apparently cant be fixed in the current engine. (sounds rediculous right? a zombie game with broken zombies, attempted to be fixed almost a YEAR after release.)

POSITIVES: (FINALY!!!)
Standalone's sytem of item condition works well for some items like the scopes and binoculars, which progressevly chip and shatter through damage, however for some items like food and clothing condition arent effected beyond their texture, sometimes having damages jeans or jackets can help you! the 'damaged' condition textures can make clothes appear more camoflaged.
loot respawning in uninhabited areas is great as it means that srevers dont require a restart to replenish it's loot, an upcoming feature may break this great feature. the upcoming feature is that certain items will NEVER spawn on certain servers, FRANKIE onPCin1080p had a great analogy for this where he says 'for example a helicopter rotor may spawn in a certain server and the devs believe the community will band together, and tell each other where this rotor is, however judging the current community, that rotor is going into a tent in some woods!' <--- this last part is realy quite depressing.

i dont realy know much about the implementation pf vehicles, but if they behave like vehicles do in the mod (modular repair and fuel systems) they could be great to get around cherranus quickly.

DAYZ:STANDALONE's texture quality is far superior to the origonal mod, making the game much more immersive adn realistic, it feels great to see some of my favorite cheranian (?cherranian?) locations in HD including the wreck of the rify and cherno.

The attachments system in DAYZ:STANDALONE is DEAD ON 9/10 my only complaint is that there are not alot of attachments in the game currently, so it's a system that reqires only time in improving veriety.

the addition of canopeners and eqivelent items, is great as it encourages players to scavenge every nook and cranny for something to open their precious last can of 'DEEZ BEANZ' to hold off starvation.

if you want my opinion purchace ARMA2:combined operations, and go download dayz commander or launcher. the origonal is far superior besides a awful inventory system!

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR READING THIS FAR! i hope you found this info helpful and if you want to ever play a game with me, jst add me on steam and message me! id love to hear your opinion too, and if you would like starter help, still, msg me. ive learnt the games features well and would love to teach others how to play!
