Solid 8/10 game. Every level feels fresh and minimally repetitive, always introducing unique and engaging mechanics. Story is also really sweet. Only issue with the game is that it tends to overstay it's welcome quite a lot.

RV there yet is a solid 7/10 game and I could not recommend it more. The game is very much imperfect, the vehicle physics can be finicky in later levels, the winch was a lot of fun to play with and it never felt like it trivialized levels, the tapes you can find add surprising depth to the world with an unexpected twist at the end. This game could use so much polish in just about every aspect but it never made the game less of an enjoyable experience! 8 Dollars is more than a fair price for such a delightful game and I cannot wait to see what Nuggets Entertainment does next! <3

First things out of the way: the bad
1. Mashmak (extraction mode PvEvP) can feel really unfair against certain mechs like Aquilla, Luminae and the flyers Skyraider and Falcon, GOD forbid they're in the same team.
2. A 50 USD, time-limited skin with accessories available for free ONLY if you buy the skin, really fluffing scummy and I hope we can rally to change that (genuinely it sucks)

That's it though, those are the major bad things I see about this game

I genuinely love this game, 6v6 is so delightfully chaotic and all the mechs have very focused playstyles, no mech is gonna try to do something they aren't meant for and each has a purpose on a team. The game focuses much more on strategy and team play rather than things more skill-dependant. There is no need to aim for most mechs, the lock on aims for you and the only time you *need* to worry is if you're playing one of the current two snipers and even then, you have options to get into lock-on range. This creates an environment with a low skill floor and skill ceiling, making it VERY approachable and emphasizing situational awareness and strategy with your team.

There is a player-driven market that trades with premium currency which seems fine for the most part, cosmetics are very highly priced which is to be expected and doesn't bring the game down much, at least for me. You get items to put on the market from Mashmak, the PvEvP mode with 3 difficulty modes. In mashmak you kill NPC enemies, loot them, sometimes fight players and get out with whatever you looted. The loot ranges from weapons to use in Mashmak, paint canisters which have varying qualities similar to Counter Strike skins, if you're familiar with it's skins, patterns which act as a sort of skin for Mechs that are randomized both in colors and how they're applied and canisters containing Mission Tokens (primary currency) and all of these can be sold for premium currency.

The customization is SUPER in-depth both for your pilot and mech (you know the girlie went for the big booba). Pilots can get different outfits and just about every part can have its color changed with paint, same goes for the mechs in the game. Unfortunately, patterns and colors are mech-specific, so you can't apply the EXACT same paint to another mech if you've already spent tokens on that paint for a different mech which is pretty dumb but you can get enough mission tokens it *tends* not to be a big issue for paint, patterns however are probably hell for people who are SUPER about their fashion.

The gameplay is fairly faster paced but not too much that it becomes hard to determine what's happening, at least if it IS too chaotic it doesn't happen often (mainly when you get targeted by five people). There's a killcam so it becomes much easier to understand who killed you and how you died, making where you need to improve a lot more clear and, again, emphasizing that situational and spacial awareness. The gamemodes are all really fun and have good twists on some tried-and-true gamemodes.

Zone capture starts with only A being available, after A is captured the others become opened and can be claimed. Claiming zones is really fast, only taking a few seconds after an interaction prompt and the game won't tell you one is being claimed. Which zones you need to take can change really quickly and, naturally, taking just A at the start can take some time since it stops the claim if you're shot while taking point. Probably one of my favorites with a decent team, make sure to bring a Tricera or Stego to lock down a point.

Mecha BREAK's take on escort is probably my favorite, instead of a single payload with an attacking and defending team, there's two payloads, one for each team. You move them forward by sitting on top, so naturally tanks are very important. There are 3 checkpoints along the route, activating once any one payload reaches the point, after a short time it will open a capture point. Once the capture point is out, you need to be within it's radius to take it, the more players the more it advances so you want EVERYONE on point if you can and to push opponents out. Upon a successful capture, the successful team's payload advances forward quickly, because of this, a team struggling to move payload can come back quickly if they can capture the point even just ONCE.

Finally, the last feature I want to talk about is Executions, finishers similar to Apex Legends. After killing an enemy, if you're within range you can Execute them, playing a long animation as a sort of disrespect and it feels SOO good and is counted as a stat on the end screen after a match, so getting "Top Finisher" can be rather impressive. Naturally, something so flashy comes with a drawback: it leaves you highly vulnerable for the entire duration so you can easily die in the middle of it. Some Executions are fair like Panther who needs to be very close to Execute, which thankfully they meet due to being a hyper-focused melee mech. Others like Aquilla, the heavy sniper that stays in the air most of the match, can feel really undeserved because it can be done from just about any distance away and ends up feeling really cheap but that's only the case for Aquilla and Narukami, if these mech's finisher distances get tweaked in the future I think it'd feel more fair for the entire cast.

Mecha BREAK is a must try for any mech nerd or pvp gamer. It's honestly fantastic this game is free and well-compressed. It also seems well optimized, running well on my computer at a decent frame rate (I have a GTX 1060 and Ryzen 5 2600X 6-core). I can't help but recommend this game and hope it improves even more in the future as the devs plan to allow you to customize animations for your pilot for achievements like triple kills, aces and executions as well as a story mode.
Genuine 8 even 9 out of 10 game I can't recommend you give it a quick try enough.

I genuinely don't know if I'll finish this game. It just feels so damn clunky to play, it feels like this game was created with no communication between devs and they just slapped ♥♥♥♥ together that vaguely works. I really WANT to enjoy this game but there are enemies and mechanics that make it insufferable.

To this games credit it feels very badass to play! Playing well feels really good! But getting there requires jumping over technical hurdles that verge on lameplay.

Evil West has a vast array of weapons on a Devil May Cry scale. Each level, and there's a lot of em, will usually give you one or two new things, be it a weapon or upgrade to an existing one so the game continues to feel fresh even after you get deep into it. But this is made alongside an upgrade and perk system that feels shoehorned in. I had several moments where I got an upgrade, couldn't afford it, then walked into the next area only to find treasure after treasure making it feel like the devs REALLY wanted you to have that upgrade but had to work around the need for currency.

By far the most infuriating part of this game for me was the dodging/evasion. This games dodges SUCK and I can't tell what it was even trying to achieve. I've had moments where you are invulnerable during the [tap] dodge and the double [tap] roll but they seem to only work when they feel like it leading to actually evading attacks feeling WILDLY inconsistent. Most of my evasion revolves around seeing a big, unblockable attack and giving it a wide berth but even that doesn't always work. You can extend the area you travel by dodging by delaying your roll after a sidestep which works a lot better but ends up feeling like a mandatory tech to learn which feels wrong for a game that I think was intended to be more casual.

The combat encounters can be criticized as well. Even early on it feels like you're missing an upgrade or two you're supposed to have and can end up making combat feel slow as you need to target one enemy at a time, usually pulling them away from the group just so you aren't interrupted. Many of the encounters feel like they just throw enemies that fit the color palette of the level into an area without any regard with how they work TOGETHER making many encounters feel downright unfair to the point you need to keep your distance and lameplay in order to just get down to one enemy you can fight fairly. The standout example to me was at a church where you fight one giant bat enemy alongside THREE enemies with huge shields that must be broken via shotgun or melee damage, alternatively just shot in the head since the shield doesn't cover their head. That particular combat was one of the single most frustrating experiences I've had in a game, if I tried to target one, another will charge at you forcing a dodge and the other will launch three shockwaves which you can't block. There are other similar times to this where it felt like the devs just threw enemies at you and asked questions later.

I could go into specific enemies and how they synergize with each other to make certain combats even more insufferable but I think I've made my core complaints so I want to end on the positives. I really like the art direction and the alternative history take on the wild west. The weapons are fun to use even if feeling a little slow and there's plenty of variety to make use of, just when I think I've got it all I get a new toy to play with which always feels awesome. The game is also very to-the-point, there are no side quests, just the main story to play and each level will take you a good 30 minutes to an hour and the levels are very fleshed out.

Evil West is a game that will give you plenty of toys to play with and plenty of vampires to use them on, but that's not to say the vampires play fair. Dodging feels like wading ankle deep in cement that's already hardened, many combat encounters feel downright unfair to the point you're forced to play lame and early on make you feel like you're missing an upgrade or two that would put you on even footing with the enemies. I really want to enjoy this game, the combat can feel good to get good at even if it feels clunky often and it's fun to see how you can use the vast amount of tools at your disposal but because of the poor encounter design and inconsistent dodges I simply cannot tell other people to play Evil West

A gamer cheaper than ordering fast food and 100 times the fun. No reason not to pick it up and play with friends. Don't forget to get Tmod to play some Calamity too! I almost wish this game would go on a reverse discount so I can pay 20 dollars for it!
