FTL is one of those gems that you can leave paused and just loose yourself in the visuals, soundtrack, and then remember that the game itself is fantastic. It is easy to understand but very difficult to master. Earlier on the ship progression system was not the greatest but with the advanced update and the alternate unlock system the game was revamped and far more interesting to play. Not many games can pull at your heartstrings like FTL, baiting you to make risky choices, or taunting you for playing it safe. The game pulls no punches/ Events you know ended differently on differently playthroughs, and choices you used to have with different systems crew etc will no longer being available, each time and every run is different. Final verdict is its a great game to just forget about everything else, maybe losing an hour or two here and there. Also, Giant Alien Spiders are no joke.
