While this game is buggy at times and does lack some content to extend gameplay, the potential is absolutely there and the devs seem to actually care about improving the game, if you're expecting a full game you're better off waiting a year or even two, but if you're looking for an interesting space game that is growing as you play, Starbase will fill that.

Space Engineers has a lot of potential, but unfortunately, it falls short in many aspects. One major issue with the game is the lack of content within the game itself. While there are some basic objectives and missions to complete, they are often repetitive and lack depth, leaving players with little incentive to continue playing beyond the initial stages of the game.

The game is heavily reliant on player-created content, which is often created through servers, but this content is not supported by the developer team and is even sometimes actively discouraged. This over-reliance on player-created content puts the burden on the players to create their own enjoyable experiences, which can be hit or miss depending on the quality of the servers and the creativity of the player base.

In addition, Space Engineers is incredibly buggy and glitchy, which makes it frustrating to play. The physics engine is unreliable, and objects tend to clip through each other, causing unexpected collisions and crashes. The audio design is also unimpressive, with generic sound effects and uninspired music that quickly become repetitive and grating. The objectives are often unclear, and the overall game progression feels slow and unsatisfying. The controls are also clunky and unintuitive, making it difficult to execute even the simplest actions.

Finally, the multiplayer experience in Space Engineers is frustrating and buggy. The game's netcode is unreliable, and players often experience lag and disconnects, making it nearly impossible to play with friends or strangers online.

Overall, the lack of content within Space Engineers, aside from the player-created content on servers, is a major drawback for the game. This places a heavy burden on the players to create their own experiences, which can be hit or miss, and the lack of quality control can lead to a lot of frustrating and unenjoyable experiences.

TL;DR Space Engineers a disappointing choice for players looking for a more structured and cohesive space-based gaming experience.
